I've had this coffee maker for six years and it's been perfect. I've never needed to replace the carafe or the filter, and I've only ever used the reusable filter it came with. It's relatively easy to wash, it's light and I've traveled with it a couple times. It definitely seems like experiences have varied, but I've even left mine on accidentally until the coffee evaporated and it didn't break. Some people have mentioned the lid is hard to close. It is designed so that you need to close the lid before putting the carafe underneath. This isn't intuitive, but it works - the carafe pushes up on the dripper, and this prevents it from continuing to pour out if you remove the carafe partway through brewing to pour coffee, but it also means you have to close the top until it snaps, then put the carafe underneath. ... show more

I had a Mr Coffee maker prior to this, and the quality difference is crazy. I'm not sure if it's the built in filter, or the glass carafe, but I'm thrilled. It's small and adorable. The only feature I'll need to adjust to is turning it off after it's done brewing, because there's no auto shut off, and the glass will get too hot. But, the upside to that is I can just flip the switch back on to heat back up for my second cup, and it's incredibly fast. Very simple design, just how I wanted it. ... show more

I either got stuck with a dysfunctional item or the “good” reviews are fictitious. It’s attractive, was offered in nice colors but it takes forever to brew the coffee. It keeps pausing for no reason and it’s been pausing more as time goes on. And NO, I am not pausing it myself to remove the pot and pour myself a cup. If you need a small but cute coffee pot this one is a good buy. It takes up little counter space and makes a good cup of coffee with one on deck. We even took ours on a 6 day road trip last month. Small and cute but pushing down the top to close for brewing takes some effort and feels like it might not hold up to daily. Also, the cord on this is just 2 feet long! I have to use an extension cord just to make it accessible, ugh.

Got this for free because it was only around $20 and I had about that many Amazon points available, so I used 'em after I dropped and shattered my old coffee pot. Works fine. Had it over a year now. 5 stars for the price, for sure. But has it's drawbacks. Overall recommend if you're on a budget. If not, consider this: PROS: - Cheap - Reusable filter that still works for me a year later after purchase - Easy to operate (single on/off button that lights up red when on) CONS: - Doesn't automatically turn itself off after time so I've left it on overnight countless times. - Base rusts over time. Not much you can't do about that, so loses it's aesthetic appeal. If you forget to wipe all of the water off just once, prepare for flaking and rust. - The filter lets some coffee ground residue through so there are particles at the bottom of the cup, just don't empty out the entire pot into your cup and you'll be fine.
