Never used an arbor press before so I was a bit hesitant but decided to bite the bullet. Am replacing all needle bearings in a DeWalt 788 scroll saw and found this press to meet and exceed any and all expectations (and qualm all fears I might have had). Extremely easy to use. No complaints about quality nor durability. Far as value for the money it definitely fits the bill. Don't know what I'm going to do with it when I'm done but far as I'm concerned it was worth every penny. Weight is 20+ pounds but I'm sure it's part of the design. "Assembly "instructions" are pretty lame but putting the 3-4 parts together posed no problem. ... show more

Keep in mind this was under $40 when I got it so don't expect top quality for that price. The size is very small which is good and bad depending on what you intend to use it for and how much space you have. It isn't overly heavy so you can easily move it around to store it out of the way when it isn't needed or bolt it down permanently. I found it easy to use and it does have some uses. The locking collar is plastic but I probably won't use that piece anyway. It is helpful to be able to adjust where the handle is positioned depending on your job and the locking collar would just make that harder to do. Sort of a weird test job but I was able to form a dished washer with a socket and steel ball. That was an easy job for this little press and would have been harder to do without it. I also used it to form some small parts, flatten others, and even used it to punch some holes. For what it is, I feel it was worth the cost and the quality seems pretty good besides that plastic part. Keeping in mind the small size and the low price, I'd give it 5 stars. It may not be big enough or powerful enough for a lot of jobs but it is a really handy tool to have for the times it will work. ... show more

I purchased this Arbor press to bleed the air out of a new water pump. It worked perfectly. I love how this tool is made. It is hurky! Incredibly well made. I would highly recommend this for anyone who works on engines.

Hahaha, bought this little Arbor Press for some hobby and craft work. Seems to be a great little press. I would give it 5 stars but I got to tell you the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. This is an Arbor Press, very few moving parts, a handle, a gear, a ram and a body.... That's pretty much it. Page 1 of the instructions depicts the press along with text stating Arbor Press and Assembly and Operating Instructions. Page 2 is a Safety and Warning page with only a partial text. Most of the left text is missing. Page 3, now we get to the funny part. Page 3 starts with item # 9. There are no items 1 - 8 btw. Item # 9, Do Not abuse the power cord. Do not yank it to disconnect it from the receptacle. Do not carry tools by the cord. HELLO, this is an arbor press, there is no electrical cord.. Someone, I'm guessing not in this country has no idea what they are doing or copying... BTW, there are no instructions for how to operate the arbor press in the instruction manual. It's pretty easy to figure out thank god. ... show more

I bought this arbor press as "used like new" from Amazon Resale. When I got it I realized that a small part was damaged and one other small part was missing. I called HHIP, the original manufacturer and they were absolutely AWESOME!! They asked for details of what was missing or damaged and told me they had the part that was damaged was In Stock and would ship right away, and they DID! I got it yesterday! On the missing part it wasn't in stock but they ordered it for me AND got me the dimensions so I could fabricate a temp part until they got the oem part to ship for me!     • Poorly designed garbage!

This product is garbage. 1) The ring holding the gear in place is plastic, too large for the gear shaft, and needs to be tightened with an Allen key. Which is not provided. 2) The gear and ram teeth are a sloppy match, causing the handle position to change, AND the teeth slip when pulling down on the handle. No amount of adjustment could correct that issue. Finally, I can't return it, because Amazon doesn't pay for the return shipping of this defective Arbor press, and the cost of shipping (due to weight and distance) is $78. So, I lose less money by not shipping it back for a $51 dollar refund. I'm completely disgusted with this transaction. My advice, search for a quality press, and spend the money. You'll be much happier. ... show more

Works perfectly for my use as a heated press. Space between the ram jack and the base is a little tight. Make sure you set the ram jack arm so that it's in a position for you to get maximum leverage on whatever you're pressing. You may have to unbolt the front plate of the press and realign the ram in the teeth so that the arm is not at an awkward angle when fully cranked down. Other than aligning the ram in the teeth with the crank arm this .5 ton arbor press comes out of the box pretty much ready to use. ... show more

    • It's an Inexpensive Arbor-Press

For the money, it is what it is. Not the greatest quality. Ram is bowed about 1/16". Action is not smooth. I had to purchase a M6 X1.0 plug-tap because the side adjusting screw-holes were not tapped all of the way thru. Bought it for pressing in small dowel-pins. It'll work fine for that.
