I really like the ratcheting adjustment mechanism on these casters. I used to install lab equipent, and we always carried slip jaw pliers to use to level the machines. Used properly, these pliers were effectively an adjustable ratchet, and we could level a machine in just a few minutes, making easy, precise adjustments on the supports. Now, that ratcheting mechanism has been made integral to the levelers/casters. It adds a little on the cost side, but makes life much easier down the road. These come with two sizes of stems for flexibility. Another nice feature is the leveling stop is captured by the caster; you don't have to worry about adjusting it too far and it falling off of the caster. The only downside, and it's truly minor, is that these are heavy duty castors and large, over 4.5 inches, which you must take into account when setting up your bench, tool platform, or whatever you are using these for. With a combined capacity of 2.5 tons, these casters are overkill for a barbecue table, or other siimilar uses. But for a lathe, a woodworking bench, or a machinists table?
