Love it! The first thing I did was inspect the box and contents for any damage. Everything was perfect. Next, I took inventory of all parts as the instructions said to do, I had one door hinge pin that was missing. I contacted Hodedah directly and received an email response pretty quickly. They were very helpful and opened the ticket to ship the part. After about 7 business days I had still not received the part and I contacted them again. They were apologetic and shipped the part and it arrived a few days after that. So help was a little slow but no big deal. The cabinet was easy to assemble. Although I did use my own tools and not the ones provided. I took my time, it took about three hours to assemble. But as you can see in my pics, my patience and care really paid off. The lines and spacing of the doors and seams are beautiful. The cabinet fits perfectly in the small space of my small apartment which has very limited kitchen cabinet space. The 24-inch width was the hook for me. This was exactly what I needed. I am very pleased with this pantry from Hodedah. Just read the instructions and take your time putting it together and you should have a great cabinet that will last a long time. I will definitely consider Hodedah for any more furniture like this that I purchase in the future. ... show more

It was very hard to assemble. Some of the wood was split. Instructions were super weird and difficult to understand. So that was a pain in the butt Its quite spacious and holds a lot. Generous amount of space so thats good but its just hard to put together. It is heavy Sturdy.

This pantry cabinet is tall but I wish it were wider. It does the job of helping store the food though and for that I am grateful. When I first received it, I noticed a crack . I called the company Hodedah immediately for replacement and they immediately shipped out a replacement. They were prompt and courteous on the phone and sent a replacement board at no charge and I didn’t even have to send damaged board back either. They just wanted a picture of damaged board and other information. So this is a company that stands by its products. I believe the board was damaged when delivery driver tosses it on my porch and I hear a boom. It wasn’t too difficult to put together no power tools needed. Although I did keep a drill handy and decided to use it for screws. The motion of screwing things in by hand gets tiring. So drill came in handy, but if you don’t have don’t fear you can still put this together without one. The directions were clear enough. Although three items were not marked. One of the items not marked with a letter was the 2 plastic sheath for the back boards which insert as a divider for the back boards. Since I didn’t know what this long plastic pieces were for I ended up not doing the bottom part of the back with it. After I did it then I realized my mistake but it was too late bottom back boards were already nailed in. I was able to do the top back boards though. Other than that no issues putting it together. I put together this product as one woman with no help in under 2 hours. Part of this was because I was taking it slow to be sure that I was doing it right. Probably would go much faster if two people put it together. All in all not bad. Though I did think the product was bigger. It is tall but not very wide and not very deep. Will probably get a 2nd one in the future. ... show more

The instructions are vague as they don't show orientation of the pieces well at all. It does specify finished v. Unfinished edges. This resulted in putting pieces together and later having to disassemble and reassemble properly. The instructions are on 8.5 x 11 sheets, and I loved that they were bigger than usual. The cabinet itself seems fairly sturdy, but it came with 5 broken magnetic door catches. I had to replace them at home depot fir $15.00. Once it's in place, don't move it anymore than is absolutely necessary and it should last for years with gentle treatment. ... show more

    • Buy new handles, but keep the screws provided

Instructions were horrible and drawings lacked detail, especially regarding directions to orient parts (up/down, toward inside/outside, etc). The door handles provided are TERRIBLE! They are plastic and come w threaded screws. The plastic is NOT threaded and the screws are not pointed. My hands were literally bleeding after I tried, in vain, to get the handles screwed on. Two fell off immediately! Fortunately, I found the exact shaped handle (steel) at a hardware store. These replacements went on flawlessly with the screws that came with the unit. Also, bottom box was NOT square once assembled. The doors are horribly binding and wont open/close smoothly at all. The top unit went together easily and works well. This was my 4th Hodedah unit. It is hard to believe it is the same company as the others went together easily with excellent instructions and drawings. After this experience, I doubt I will buy any more from them. Would not recommend. Spend a little more for something built better that goes together well and looks nice enough to be seen by visitors. ... show more
