  • Money well spent

Money well spent, easy to put together and works flawlessly

  • Read instructions carefully
Style: Game Hoist
This product is relatively easy to assemble, but the instructions were a little confusing the first read through, so read them carefully. In use, the hoist worked perfectly and easily. It breaks down for easy transport. I used it for antelope hunting the week after I received it mounted on my truck's receiver hitch. There is plenty of cable to reach an animal that isn't directly under the hoist. The winch was more than strong enough for the doe I shot. The feature that prevents the animal from spinning around while working on it was great. I have used other hoists that do not do that, which can be kind of like working on a moving target. The support foot that goes down to the ground isn't really necessary for an animal as light as a Pronghorn, but I will use it for an upcoming late season cow elk hunt should I get lucky and harvest one. I will see then if the hoist is tall enough to at least get most of the animal off the ground, and it looks like the winch will be strong enough at least for the weight of a field dressed cow. I have been big game hunting for 50 years, and anything like this hoist that makes it easier as I get older is much appreciated. ... show more

  • Excellent for loading large game in a SxS
Style: Game Hoist
During the summer, I bought a side-by-side to replace my old ATV. I quickly discovered that it's a little tougher to get a large game animal in the back of a SxS than it is to get one over the rack of a four-wheeler. My first deer was a large one for our area, and after struggling to get him loaded into a bed that's well above waist height for me, I was looking for an easier solution. I found it with this hoist. It's pretty simple to assemble, and you can easily break it down into two pieces to fit in the bed of the truck or the SxS. I got another deer a few days after receiving this, and the load was much easier, minus some user error on my part to begin. This hoist is rock solid, and the ball bearing makes it swivel easily, even under a couple hundred pounds. I recommend setting it to maximum height to make it easier to swing the animal. Winch it up, pull the pin and rotate. You're loaded. It comes with a gambrel that will come in very handy for off-season hog hunts where I have to clean them in the field. My only complaint is that it's a bit awkward and bulky to transport. It only weighs about 50 pounds, but it's an awkward 50 pounds. It's not as easy as having a buddy help you throw one up in the bed, but if you're out by yourself, it's a handy tool and well worth the money. ... show more

  • Looks/Feels Extremely Sturdy
Style: Game Hoist
This product was easy to assemble looks extremely sturdy. The true test will be hoisting deer on it this hunting season. I gave it 4 stars. Depending on how it performs this hunting season, I will come back and upgrade.

  • Portable and works well.
Style: Game Hoist
Works great. This is a great option for people like me who don't want a dedicated hanger outside their home and don't own an old shed or barn to make one. I can back close to my water hose and use the reverse lights on truck or jeep when it's late. As others have said mine was scuffed up some as well but I'll just about guarantee this is shipping company. Remember this is steel and a little heavy so it probably don't receive the best care. Worked great and my tailgate cleared the crank winch. Seems well built. I would like to see it a little taller as the head of the deer was close to the ground so when you are working around the neck area you have to be low. Edit: I'm still happy but I my have to come up with a better way to attach the cable to the winch. Still happy though. ... show more

  • Game Hoist
Style: Game Hoist
The HME hoist is very helpful. Works great on the atv and truck hitch. Completely adjustable and the swivel is super handy. Heavy duty built. Great for deer size animals. Just back near a light after dark. Great value.

  • Great product, well made.
Style: Game Hoist
Works as it is intended. The only slight issue in the design is that once the cable is strung then it is too much trouble to completely break it down to store in a small space. I modified mine with aftermarket winch rope and a carabiner so I could store better.

  • Works great!
Style: Game Hoist
This thing is amazing. It works so well. Saves our back. Last year we used a tree branch for skinning our very large deer and the tree branch almost broke. I wish we had this back then. It’s easy to install and I can do it by myself I’m a 5’6” 150 lb woman. The only down falls are you have to swivel the hoist to drop the truck tailgate because of the wench. And it is bulky to toss in the truck bed. We keep it in two parts that are still attached by the cord so it’s a bit awkward to move it around. I highly recommend this. ... show more
