Description

Super sharp screw that makes it easy to screw into tree Camera head rotates 360 degrees and tilts up and down 120 degrees Supports all trail cameras with 1/4" x 20 threaded insert on bottom Great for placing trail camera in exact desired location Included wingnut makes for easy removal of camera From the Manufacturer The Better Trail Camera Holder utilizes the same "user friendly" installation procedures as our better line of bow hangers. Simply screw the mounting screw into the tree where you want the trail camera to face (A). Next place the camera holder mounting bracket onto the threaded stud of the mounting screw and install and tighten wing nut (B). It's that easy. Now screw the trail camera onto the threaded end of the camera mount so it is facing away from the adjustment arm and screw the camera lock up and against the bottom of camera to hold that position. Camera head rotates 360 degrees and tilts up and down 120 degrees for perfect camera placement. This simple, compact and sturdy design provides a dependable means for supporting all trail cameras with the 1/4" x 20 threaded insert on the bottom.

  • Built Like a 'Brick-Chicken-House' - in China
This is a great mount. VERY stout design. It's built like a 'brick-chicken-house' . . . I just wish it was built like a 'brick-chicken-house' in the great State of Texas . . . and not China. And yes - to you folks at HME Products - I'd pay more for it if it said "Proudly Made In the USA!" on the packaging. And by the way, not that it matters much, but the packaging is pretty awful. When you have to use 9 staples to hold a blister pack together, you're doing a LOT wrong. Anyway, I'd buy it again, and I'd recommend it. ... show more

  • Best trail cam mount available
This mount is awesome and super easy to use. Not sure why some reviews complain about rust? It's not stainless steel and it sits outside in the trees in all types of weather of course it's going to rust. I just spray mine every now and then with some wd40. The part that screws to the tree that the arm mounts to works great a few twists of the wrist and your all set. Solid mount can move it I had raccoons climbing all over it shaking the camera didn't budge an inch. Best value for the money even purchased a few more you can mount anything to it if it has 1/4 20 threads. You wont be sorry about this purchase.... ... show more

  • Five Stars But For The Rust Issue
I originally posted this review and later tried to add a photo and additional comments using the "Comments" link to the review. Unfortunately, I could not see how to add a photo to Comments so tried to "cancel"... this eliminated the entire review. It should be back now (thanks to cut/paste) along with the photo and added thoughts: Original Review: I'm giving this 4*s largely because it's such good value for money; it's versatile; and it adapts easily for use on a T-Post. Note that very few T-Post mounts have the range of motion this tool has. I'd give it 5-stars if I expected it to last longer than one year but I fear it will quickly rust out and the the various rotations, so smooth now, will no longer exist. Note to HME: If you had this hot-dipped galvanized and then painted, it would be 10-stars. It would have to cost more but most of us who hate rusted iron would gladly pay $5 more... I don't really like the little stud for fastening to a tree. First, there's only one and it will almost certainly be in the wrong place where it's put the first time; and getting it out of a tree will be more trouble than it's worth. Just use a 3" plated deck screw with torx drive; you need a drill anyway it the deck screw will be in-easy and out-easy. To use this on a T-post (where it really shines... at least "shines" until it rusts), grab a piece of scrap 1x from your shop floor (my piece was a scrap of 3/8" plywood about 4"x8" but almost any size will work); drill two holes near the top for a U-bolt; just below that drill a hole for an appropriately sized bolt and fasten the HME to the board. Then just use the U-bolt to fasten the board to a T-post, taking care to put the long end down so it will lay against the T-post. If you want to stick the apparatus upward, you'll need to use two U-bolts... Added Thoughts: To attach this device to another post without first bolting it to a larger (wooded) plate, you will need a slender 6" driver because the swivel mechanism gets in the way for a straight drive and you need to use the driver through the small opening in the base mechanism (see picture). However, this is easily done; just takes a few more parts if you're using a power drill. Note the rust already starting to form on the mechanism nuts. Come on HME, stainless is not that much more per item... ... show more

  • rugged - yes; easy to use - nope (not as bad as I thought)
I wanted to be able to hang some cams a bit higher and angle them down. I bought this holder, HME similar one that just screws in and a 3 pack of simpler yet hangers. I have the 1st 2 and not real thrilled that I need 2 wrenches to adjust the tilts. Be so much easier with wing nuts or similar type of tool-free bolt/nut. I will look to modify so I won't need the extra tools every time I set them up or adjust. They are rugged and HME does make good products....this one just needed a little more thought.\ UPDATE: it wasn't quite as bad I thought. You don't need to do much with wrenches once you have it "tightened" properly - you want it pretty tight so you can just move the adjustments yet the camera will stay in place. However, tool free adjustment would be nice. ... show more

  • WORKS GREAT
If you've ever used those camera mounts that come with most trail cams, you know how useless and frustrating they can be; don't stay tight, have to constantly tighten the nut on the back which means removing the mount from the tree. This is a great camera mount. Well made (except the rubber rings don't hold up but you don't really need them) and stays secure. Camera remains secure and position of the camera remains in place. ... show more

  • Works well if you can drive the screw into a tree
I love this device and ordered another. Difficult to drive into hard wood unless you can find a crack or other opening, but works really well and quite adjustable. I use it on wooden fence posts too, which often have cracks. Bring a box end wrench to gain leverage when screwing this into hard wood.

  • Can't live without these!
You just can't live without these, they are the absolute best tool in a hunter/trail cammer's arsenal! My rule now is, if your trail camera does not have a 1/4 tripod mount. it's trash. these are a (somewhat expensive) necessary trailcam accessory. Currently i'm using a moultrie a5-low glow on it. it works wonders. just screw it into the tree and WHUULA! and a spypoint wireless (the spypoint wireless cams come with a casing that mounts to a tree and also has a 1/4 mount. what i'm trying to say is, buy these. when buying new cameras check pics of them or specs for a 1/4 mount on the bottom. dont buy them if they dont have a mount. check your current cameras, if they have any buy these mounts for them. ... show more

  • Great stand/holder for Trailcam - spiders build nests in it though :O
Great stand for my Browning Strikeforce HD Browning Strike Force HD Camera, Camouflage camera. Just screw it into a fencepost, tree or other wooden material. Yes some spiders may make a nest in it so be careful taking it down if you hate spiders LOL. Here are a couple pictures of it after spring and summer in the Pacific Northwest weather - ie rainy! ... show more
