I purchased this E-bike at the end of July and yes, it is now Sept. Today, I finally, (with a friend who has an E-bike), took the bike out and with her help and knowledge, I must say, this bike is fun to ride! Once you get the hang of it, the bike is easy to use and runs great. Now , let's get to one of the reasons it took me so long to get this bike together. Once I unfolded the bike, I couldn't close the fold fastener to make it flush against the body to lock the safety on the fastener. There was a metal ball like thing that suck out too far. After communicating back and forth for a week because of the time difference and technical problems(my video and their's wouldn't download.it was a simple solution. At the center of the ball is a tiny hexagon hole which you would use the right size allen wrench to screw it in just a little more. Problem solved! Once I was able to lock the bike, the rest was easy peasy. Every thing went smoothly until I was about to connect the headlight and found the connection had cracked and the pins in it were bent. I again contacted customer service and a new headlight was sent. The bike looks nice and is easy to assemble, is fun to ride and runs smooth. A great deal for the price! I had purchased this on Amazon Prime Day and it was on sale for $699. + $50 shipping. I was charged $799 + $50 shipping. I contacted CS and they said they would honor the $699. I've increased my daily riding to 12 miles and this bike has performed perfectly. I had to make minor cable adjustments for the brakes and derailleur due to cable stretching. This is normal even for a conventional bike. After a year, using it every day in fair weather it has been working perfectly. I ride 9.5 miles at 15 mph, setting 2 around my rural neighborhood. The roads are hilly, which makes conventional bike riding very difficult, in fact at times having to walk uphill. The motor allows me to keep pedaling with little loss of pedaling speed. It makes for a better and more enjoyable exercise. I've had the bike for several months now ridden it around home and taken it on vacation. While on vaca I rode it 7 miles every day for 7 days. It was fully charged and I rode it when I got home from vaca for another 10.6 miles on the same charge. It was on setting 1, pedal assist, 6th gear, 9mph, up and down moderate hills. One comment on setting 1; you do have throttle control, but you must stop pealing for it to engage. I enjoy it very much, especially around our rural neighborhood with many hills. original review I’ve never owned an e-bike so I can’t make a fair comparison. I took it on a 6 mile shakedown run on a fairly flat trail. The controls worked perfectly; battery was fully charged out of the box. Because the trail was flat I didn’t fully utilize the assist which I kept at #1. It worked perfectly at a point where there was an uphill grade. A word of caution when at low speed; set assist to zero or it will rapidly accelerate. That scared me a little. Like anything new, one needs to acclimate to the e-bikes behavior. I got comfortable quickly and it was fun. The bike is new so there’s the question of longer-term performance. My first impression of overall quality is better than expected. The bike is great for local commuting — pretty easy to assemble and fold if you're low on storage space. If you're going to secure the bike, definitely need a pair of security chains & a U-lock. The supplied lock isn't quite long enough to secure each wheel & frame to a post but it'll work for a short term pinch. Tires provide a smooth ride but just make sure to do daily pressure checks, especially if the weather is erratic where you're at. Also make sure to detach the front light when you fold it. Otherwise the strain will rip the leads out of the connector. Happened to me but it was easy enough to solder & repair the connection. ... show more
