New York City has been experiencing extremely hot weather recently. To cope with the heat, it's natural to keep the air conditioner running at home. However, the AC in my parents' room is very old. Although it still functions, it produces a loud, tractor-like noise. The noise is so intense that it becomes uncomfortable, even though the unit cools the room. I eventually chose this Hisense model. Traditional window units often have more dependable technology than some newer designs. This unit includes a user-friendly control panel and a remote control. With the remote, my parents can easily adjust the temperature, fan speed, and mode. The installation was simple, but the 10,000 BTU unit is heavy. I asked my parents to help me lift it into the window. After we turned it on, the room cooled quickly. The strong cooling power made the room feel better quickly. When the room got cool, we turned on Eco mode. We turned on Eco mode. This helps save energy costs. The AC also has a timer that works for 24 hours. After setting it, they don’t need to wake up to turn it off. This helps them sleep through the night. Overall, this Hisense unit is a strong performer. It is quiet, efficient, and easy to use. It has been an excellent replacement for the summer.

I picked up this unit for an office room and it’s been working great. It cools the space fast, runs way quieter than I expected, and doesn’t seem to use much electricity. Setting it up in the window was simple. The smart controls are a nice bonus—I can adjust it from my phone or just ask Alexa, which makes life easier. I also like that it has fan and dehumidifier modes, plus the filter pops out easily for cleaning. With the two-year warranty on top, it feels like a solid little unit that I can count on through the summer.

Works Great as an AC & HEATER in 16x20 ft room vs an 1500watt standard heater only or a noisy window mounted ac. Worth every dollar. Just guesting it produces 3-4 times the heating area that a standard elec heater could. Also make sure you have a window to vent out of the exhaust hoses, due to when using in Cooling mod it blows out hot air out of one for the exhaust hoses & when in Heating mod it blows cold air out, the other hose draws in air to cool the unit. It a very quiet unit. Plus it uses 900watts max & No more hot electic outlets. Great Deal and should give one a lower electric bill as well.

I think for an inverter air conditioner, this one is loud, now saying that it is quieter than the conventional air conditioner that doesn't have an inverter. The reason we got this air conditioner is that it has a 2-year warranty. We have two other inverter A/C's we find they save us 100 dollars a month over the two conventional ones we had. We didn't get the U-shaped A/C because, yes, they may be fixed, but you have to check and drain them once a month and replace the plug. We think that is a hassle, and we have one already that we have to do. The remote on this is better than some; we don't use the app as we find that it disconnects, and then you have to reset it and start all over. It is just easier to use the remote or the A/C panel on the air conditioner. The install was a breeze we used a support bracket to brace it. The panels that came with it are fine. We screwed it into the wall and have a security system that monitors the windows that have the A/C's so that we are moderately safe from break-ins. This A/C cools are bedroom just fine even when it's up to 100 degrees outside. As far as durability, we are hoping to get two summers out of it. When we installed it, we have it at a slight tilt so it will drain outside. Overall, we are happy with our purchase. Only time will tell if we stay that way with this item.

I purchased this item in late June. I was able to install it a few days later, and it cooled beautifully. Unfortunately, it was also emitting a terribly noxious odor. I checked online, and it said this could be "off-gassing." After running for a few hours, it should stop. Well, I fell asleep and a few hours later, my entire apartment was filled with noxious odors that gave me and my child a terrible headache. I called Hisense and was told to unplug the unit, don't turn it on, and a repair technician would be sent. A couple of days later, I received an email stating that these units were not serviced and that I'd have to participate in the "Small Appliance Field Destroy" program. I'd receive a call with instructions. Well, I never received a call, but I did receive an unclear email and needed further guidance. When I called Hisense customer service again, I was told the e-mail was wrong, and I was supposed to "troubleshoot" with them. Troubleshoot what? That the unit filling my home with noxious odors that made me and my child sick? I was put on hold forever and told they'd "try" to get me a refund, but "a noxious odor" isn't covered under warranty, and I should return to Amazon. Easier said than done, since I no longer had the original packaging. The representative said they'd explain this to "inventory" and see if they could send me a replacement unit, and I'd hear from someone within 48 hours. Well, TWO WEEKS passed with no contact, and I called them back again. I was told I'd need to speak to a supervisor, but none were available so that I could expect a call back within 48 hours. I told them I had NO FAITH that I'd hear back and was willing to hold, but the rep said they couldn't hold the line any longer. I was livid and emailed customer service and Hisense management. FIVE DAYS LATER, I got a response via text saying they tried to call me - they didn't - I have my received call logs - they didn't, so I called them. That's today. They said I will receive a refund in 2-4 weeks (summer will be practically over - so helpful!) and once I PACK AND SHIP the defective unit back to them, I'll get a $50 Amazon gift card for my inconvenience. I was told I'd receive the FedEx return label via e-mail. Well, I'm still waiting for the FedEx return label, but I got an email asking me to send proof of purchase again! I have already provided that A MONTH AGO, and the supervisor I spoke to today CONFIRMED that and said I didn't have to send it again. If I don't receive the label within an hour, I'll call again. Meanwhile, during one of the hottest summers on record, I am stuck without the air conditioner I purchased. I plan to update this review to see if Hisense sticks to their word and: 1) sends the label for return, 2) refunds me, 3) sends the Amazon gift card as "compensation." Forgive me if I lack faith in their ability to do the right thing. In fairness, Amazon has offered to help now, but I feel that Hisense should take responsibility and do the right thing. This is the WORST customer service experience I've ever encountered, and I would never, ever purchase any Hisense, Toshiba, or associated product ever again, and will encourage family and friends NOT to purchase as well. Going forward, I'll make these purcahses locally - this has been a terrible experience!
