Description

This Energy Star 50-pint dehumidifier quietly collects water and removes it from the air for a more comfortable home environment. Excess moisture is collected in the slide-out, 18.6-pint internal bucket or can discharge the water via connecting a standard garden hose through the side of the cabinet and into a low level drain. The Hisense unit is doing the job I bought it for - I have it sitting in my crawlspace and pumping into a 5-gal bucket which requires a daily dump because I needed a quick-fix for a summer humidity problem. I like that bin is large enough to where doesn't take constant emptying. Of course it depends on the level of moisture you have. Bin is designed where not much spills when try to get to location to empty. A lot quieter than last one I had. Sounds like a box fan running. Happy with purchase.

The only downfall, and it's not this company's fault, is the heat emitted in the dehumidifying process. Milton brought my Granddaddy Live Oak down on and into my house... Fortunately, it happened in Oct., not July/August!. This dehumidifier along with window AC units is allowing me to stay in my home during the reconstruction process. I have two of these, I empty them 3 times a day and am grateful they exist!! Worth EVERY penny!!! ... show more

Weighing just 32 lb, this dehumidifier is relatively easy to move. You can easily drain it continuously by attaching the hose. The humidity level is adjustable. However, this one does not have Wi-Fi connectivity and cannot be controlled remotely.

I purchased the Hisense Energy Star 25 pint to replace a Kesnos dehumidifier. Put the Hisense dehumidifier in an insulated 650 square foot garage with 13 ft ceilings. The hisense will reduce the humidity to a point but it struggles. The unit only has one fan speed. Even setting the unit on 40% it runs continuously and that's with the help of a 18500 btu Daikin minispit. The water tank is cheaply made. As one person reviewed, the humidity sensor is off. Mine is off by 5%. My personal feeling is that the unit isn't very well made. The Kesnos was better made but I had 3 of them and they all failed in less than two years. The hisense does not come with a drain hose. It might dehumidify an 800 sq ft room but that about all. Pros; relatively inexpensive. Rather light weight. Does keep humidity down. Adjustable humidity setting. Auto cut off. Cons: Loud one speed fan. No drain hose. Struggles to lower humidity. Flimsy water tank. Cheap construction. thought it had decent reviews so i have it going now (2 months). so far it is working as expected, pulling out moisture (even when very humid out) and pumping it out of the room. i have it in our lower level rooms ~800 sqft. set at 40. noise level is no worse than any other machine and possible a bit quieter (i've had many dehumdifiers over the years).
