This Hisense sound bar replaced a Bose bar that was giving me a an issue and has worked out great. I have it programmed to come on when I turn the TV on (had to call Hisense because the instructions confused me but that was me having a brain freeze!) and also have it so I can use my main remote for volume control. Hated using multiple remotes. I won't claim to be a sound aficionado - the sound is plenty good for me. The bar itself is a nice size and the price was good. bought this for my in laws who were complaining about their TV sound. Its not super great but its better than it was and they are not complaining anymore. It looks like any and can be mounted on the wall, but the sound is what you are paying for it to be. Don't have high expecations and you wont be disappointed. I gave it 4 stars because the price is in line with the quality of sound, its easy to set up, and looks fine. It isnt a Samsung, but that is the price you are not paying. ... show more

I can't say enough good things about the Hisense HS205G Sound Bar! From the sleek design to the impressive audio performance, this soundbar delivers on all fronts. The DTS Virtual: X and Dolby Audio make watching movies and shows so much better that with the cheap, internal speaker. The HDMI/ARC and Bluetooth connectivity are super convenient, and setup was a breeze. This device improves the subpar sound that comes with the Hisense TV's, but it is still not a great sound. There is something out of whack with the constant bass thumping that plays in the background, even when you turn the bass setting way down or select the News setting which should have no bass thumping at all. Most annoying is the "Power On" voice that barks at you when you first turn the TV on (many decibels higher than the sound level you have) with apparently no way to cut it off. Very disturbing to housemates if are watching early morning or late evening when others are asleep. ... show more

Paid $79 sale price and my objective was to get a value level full range soundbar with decent low frequencies for another room in the house ( one on par at least with speakers that used to come on samsung series 6 televisions and earlier HDTVs before companies started making them "thin" and began monetizing decent sound as an add on bonus feature). I also wanted one that was semi portable to maybe for use for playing music through my phone at times or for an outdoor projector without the bother of lugging around a subwoofer....well....I achieved that goal with this soundbar and then some....and that is very much an understament. It sounds fantastic. I tested on my old 50" samsung series 6 via optical cable.... which i highly suggest if you own an earlier generation UHD tv....and it sounded better than the Phillips 2.1 i have on the samsung series 7, 75" in the living room. ( the lows aren't quite as low.... BUT....they are LOW....VERY MUCH ACCEPTABLY ....LOW. The overall sound of this speaker...for a general use TV in a room with average acoustics is surprisingly good...especially considering the price. Now, Let's talk about the quality. It's almost embarrassing talking about the quality of this device compared to what I've paid for the devices I already own being that the materials, remote, features, included hardware, sound and technology far surpass those devices. I was expecting it to be on par with an inexpensive Chinese brand I own with a wired subwoofer.....that I paid the exact same price for. I was wrong, in the best sort of way.
