I have a pretty bad dust mite allergy so I was looking for something to reliably and consistently keep the humidity in my room at like 40% all the time. This dehumidifier is great - I like that the modes come with several options and it's customizable but not confusing. Easy to empty - not as easy to clean, I did have to get some pipe cleaners so I could get in the crevices, but definitely not a pain to empty and put back together. It definitely makes your room hotter by a few degrees, but I have an AC so I don't mind. I like the white noise of it - it is indeed noisy, but in a consistent way, not in a clunky way. Very effective and reliable, worth the moderate price! I like that it's on wheels too and fits easily in my room. ... show more

Noise level is low . Sucks a lot of moisture with no issues. The size is great for a small space ( I use it in my finished basement).

    • The humidity gauge isn't accurate but otherwise it's a beast!
This thing is a beast and continually amazes me by how much water it can accumulate. The only reason I docked it a star is because the humidity reading on the unit is not accurate. I have stand alone gauges that are all in sync with each other and this unit reports about 10% lower than the actual humidity level. I wish that were more accurate but I've just worked around it. If you have a very humid space you'll probably want to connect a hose to drain, the tank fills up so frequently that I have to empty it multiple times a day. Unfortunately I don't have a good spot near a drain to put it and it not be an eye sore. I also haven't been able to get my space under around 52% humidity; however that's much better than the 72% we're up against. At the refurbished price I think this unit is a good buy but I wouldn't pay retail for it. ... show more

Wow, this thing is is great! It looks and works as new. You can't beat that for the price. I live in a forest-like house, surrounded by trees, that has been getting humid with all of the rain we've been getting here in the Midwest. I ran it on the main floor for about a week and it's been in the basement since. I can't believe the amount of water this pulls from the air. I was pretty bummed when our humidifiers stopped working. They can be so expensive! But I found this and I'm so happy that I did. It's doing a great job! ... show more
