Wow, this thing is is great! It looks and works as new. You can't beat that for the price. I live in a forest-like house, surrounded by trees, that has been getting humid with all of the rain we've been getting here in the Midwest. I ran it on the main floor for about a week and it's been in the basement since. I can't believe the amount of water this pulls from the air. I was pretty bummed when our humidifiers stopped working. Noise level is low . Sucks a lot of moisture with no issues. The size is great for a small space ( I use it in my finished basement).

    • The humidity gauge isn't accurate but otherwise it's a beast!
This thing is a beast and continually amazes me by how much water it can accumulate. The only reason I docked it a star is because the humidity reading on the unit is not accurate. I have stand alone gauges that are all in sync with each other and this unit reports about 10% lower than the actual humidity level. I wish that were more accurate but I've just worked around it. If you have a very humid space you'll probably want to connect a hose to drain, the tank fills up so frequently that I have to empty it multiple times a day. Unfortunately I don't have a good spot near a drain to put it and it not be an eye sore. I also haven't been able to get my space under around 52% humidity; however that's much better than the 72% we're up against. At the refurbished price I think this unit is a good buy but I wouldn't pay retail for it. ... show more

Solved the humidity problem in my house! Although each unit is meant to be good for 3000 sqft, I bought two for my 1500 sqft house because I'm not messing around lol. They work great and although they are refurbished they look and function as brand new. The humidity meter is accurate as I have a separate one that always seems to be in sync with the ones on these units. There is also a hose attachment for draining into a drain (drain must be lower than unit) which I haven't used yet but I probably will when I go out of town. Very happy with this and I may buy a third one when the summer months come. ... show more

I like that it has the option to connect the hose so I can let it drain into the main pump in the basement. It’s not that loud, though not exactly quiet. It’s perfect for me since it’s for the basement. I bought this because I heard this brand last years. Time will tell!
