I picked up this card to get my system ready for Windows 11. I had bought a motherboard/CPU combo that had video ports on the back, so I thought I was set. Back in the day, if a motherboard had video ports, that meant it had onboard video. Turns out now the video comes from supported CPUs, and since I bought a combo, I couldn’t just swap the chip. I tried using my old graphics card, which worked fine, but it wasn’t Windows 11 compliant. That’s when I grabbed this GT740. Installation was straightforward, and it gave me the compatibility I needed. Bottom line: This card solved my upgrade issue and gave me a big step up over my 10‑year‑old system. If you’re in the same boat — older hardware, new OS requirements — this is a solid, practical fix.

It's a basic GPU. Will it play the lastest games, absolutely not. But many Steam games that didn't work on an old I5, now play, and it's a cheap upgrade. Windows 11 recognized it just fine.

I was looking for a low cost card that would allow me to play older games (BF2, BV and BF 1942). I also used this for War Thunder, it works well even at the ultra low settings the program selected. Game play is smooth. I originally purchased the same exact card (same brand and specs) from another vendor. I received that card installed it and set it up. It worked, but seemed slow for a 4GB VRAM card. I checked the card with DXDiag, GPU-Z and Nvidia Control Panel and all stated that card had only 2GB of VRAM. This card from Amazon was the same price as the other Vendor AND IT HAS 4GB of VRAM per the aforementioned programs. Thanks for saving the day Amazon!!! Works great for all my other work related functions.

This is a relatively low end graphics card, great for low profile cases especially low power ones that don't have "VGA" or PCIe power connectors. I got it for a machine I wanted a little bit of an upgrade from integrated CPU graphics for, and at the current price of $60 (with a holiday discount down to $44) it's a good price for that. If you need more power than this card offers, especially for bus-powered cards, you're looking at $200, and if you know you don't need a 3050, it's a great deal that doesn't take much budget from your memory or storage upgrades.

Replaced Nvidia Quadro P400 card in an old HP Z4 G4 workstation running MX25 Linux (debian). Used the Nvidia driver wizard to find correct driver and disable open source driver. All is well.
