  • Good product, makes sense in a lot of ways.
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
Packaging wrecked by weight, leaving mild aesthetic wear. Overall, best lock I could find looking at the lot.

  • Best Chain Bike lock out there!
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
This bike lock is amazing, it’s a huge heavy secure lock that can take a beating. But at the same time I can’t even tell I’m wearing it while I’m on my bike, standing is the only time I feel it. I wish they had a better way to secure the excess strap but I just rolled mine up and pinned it against the chain and that works great, even with the belt on the smallest setting and a ton of left over strap. You need the key in the padlock in order to lock or unlock it which is required in any high security lock so that’s normal. I just love this lock, especially since it doubles as a reflective safety belt, I definitely recommend this lock. Any other chain lock either needs to be in a bag or on Your bike, this thing just can’t be beat! ... show more

  • One Tough Chain and Heavy
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
I use this chain when I leave my bicycle alone for an extended period of time. I like that you can wrap it around your waist; easily accomplished. I also like the reflective material. Sometimes I'll throw it over my shoulder and under the opposite arm. You need to make sure to cinch it snuggly around your waist or when you stand to peddle, it will try to slide down your waist. The only thing I wish is that it had been just a few inches longer. It's not long enough to wrap the chain around the frame if you place the bike in a bike rack at the front tire. ... show more

  • Probably Too Much Lock for Your Average Bike
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
Aside from a slight pang of buyer's remorse (only because the chain is SO hefty and SO short compared with what we were used to), this lock meets or exceeds all of our expectations, particularly when it comes to build quality and resistance to theft. No way is anybody getting it off the bike once locked. On the other hand, the (petite) person who has to wear it while riding always mutter, "Ugh!" when she has to put it on. As for the effectiveness of the reflective fabric (shown in white)? Bright as blazes, even from a distance, especially in car headlights or under a setting sun... exactly when a cyclist needs to stand out. I'm only withholding the 5th star as a warning to prospective purchasers who may be contemplating a different (non-Gold) model which affords them a bit more length -- trust me, finding a suitable hitching post that this chain can wrap around is NOT easy! -- or wish to reconsider whether their beater bike is worth investing quite this much. If we had to do it over again, we'd back off one notch and go with one of its longer, leaner brethren. ... show more

  • Needs four more chain links, IMO
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
The chain is durable and probably very hard to cut. The links are round, not square, which is a missed opportunity. The chain cover is VERY reflective. The chain is comfortable to wear as a belt- that bit works well! The lock has a few features you may or may not like: 1. The key is a one-sided inner groove key. This means that there is a right way and wrong way to insert it, making this a mess to fiddle with. 2. The hasp only locks with a turn of the key. You cannot simply snap the lock shut. I imagine that this might be more secure since there is no spring-loaded bolt inside that can be shimmed, but it is also a little less convenient. Note that while there are length choices to be had with this lock. This length refers to the length of the fabric webbing used to wear this lock as a belt. Regardless of what size you order, the chain is 32" long. 32" is not long enough for a chain to run through the frame of my bike, the front wheel, and a post. YMMV, you may want to check in on this before choosing this lock. Maybe you don't need to lock your front wheel? But if that's the case, do you really need a chain lock that costs over a hundred bucks? It's a good bike lock. If it had 4" more chain, it would be heavier, but also better. ... show more

  • Convenient!
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
Pricey but definitely worth it, a chain lock like this will keep most thieves away. But no lock can protect you from them all, at least in due time. Being able to fasten as a belt is definitely a huge plus, less things to carry in your bag! You'll feel a bit heavier since the chain definitely has some weight to it, but it isn't too much to the point where the chain becomes cumbersome. ... show more

  • Too Short!
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
I bought this for my ebike, since this is the most expensive (though low end) bike I have ever purchased. The bike has a sturdy frame. With this it is almost impossible to pass the chain through the wheel, frame and bike post, higher up, not low!--certainly not without being tattooed with chain grease. It is very well made, heavy(!) but comfortable to wear. So I will have to compromise my locking up (this is not Manhatten) or intead use the several foot covered cable that I also got. Good luck with your use ... show more

  • Secure and High Qualty!
Color: Superbright Pattern Name: Single
Exactly as advertised...strong and secure, yet can be worn while riding. If someone wants to cut or grind the Links..have fun, it will not be easy. I have confidence this will provide the optimum security for your bike. We have two Rad Rovers and use these religiously.
