The pillows I usually buy are made from "Gel Fiber 3D Hollow Siliconized Material." Not 100% what that even means but I love them. They are very squishy and I don't have broad shoulders so it works for me. It has been determined these pillows DO NOT provide enough support for my boyfriend. Because of that I wanted to try these HIMOON pillows for him! Overall the pillow is much more supportive and my boyfriend loves it. It doesn't seem like the pillow cools any better or worse than the old pillows (we did replace the cover though). To compare… Original Pillows - Gel Fiber 3D Hollow Siliconized Material - Light and fluffy - Comes vacuum sealed. Must wait 24 hours to come to full size. - Cost $28 for 2 HIMOON Pillows - 80% shredded memory foam and 20% Polyester Fiber - Heavy (compared to the other pillows) and fluffy - Comes vacuum sealed. Must wait 24 - 72 hours to come to full size. - Cost $35 for 2 - Comes with a pillow cover. I think the cover is supposed to help cool you off but I like my old covers better. The old ones are "Waterproof, Hypoallergenic Dust and Allergen Proof." There were no directions with the pillow and it doesn't really mention much in the listing about the cover – but assuming it isn't waterproof or hypoallergenic. - You can open the actual pillow up and add or take away filling to help suit your needs. This was one thing that made me want to get it – being able to customize! I think this will help the pillow last longer since you can always take all the fluff out, separate it and shove it back in. Can't really do that to other pillows. If you don't fluff other pillows everyday and they get chunky then that's kind of it – time for a new pillow. - The pillows come in a cloth bag that I assume is meant for storing any extra pillow fluff in? If you are in a rush and don't want to wait 24 or so hours to use a vacuum sealed pillow you can throw them in the dryer on air dry for 30min to an hour and they get SUPER fluffy! Nowadays I tend to buy $8ish dollar pillows. I have bought everything from $5 pillows to $75 pillows to try to maximize sleep comfort, and help with neck problems. It's too soon to tell their longevity but after a few nights I like these. No neck cricks so far. I like the way the padding is set up in side so I think these should stay fluffier longer than the batting style pillows (once a year laundromat washes and hot dryers do help but even that only goes so far.) I got this largely to be able to sit up in bed and play video games or watch TV (I know, horrible for sleep hygiene but we have a small living space.) These are handy for that. I do not notice any cooling. But having bought even smart foam pillows and mattress toppers that say they're cooling, I pretty much don't believe that claim ever anymore. I do think the company should sell singles because trying one for $12-15 is a lot less of a commitment than spending $24-30 for a pair. It's hard to say people should buy this pillow because, like mattresses, comfort, even more so for sleeping, can be really subjective. I tend to just suffer and stack old pillows when they flatten out. I could potentially see buying a set once every year or two, and moving my old flat pillows to body pillow patrol. ... show more
