Very nice, affordable, bike. (I checked prices at walmart for and this beat theirs by a lot.) The box was damaged, but the bike was well packed and received no damage. The quality is much nicer than I expected. The color is nicer in person. The name across the bike is 'BAMCBASE', Not Hiland, although Hiland is in the instruction book. It's fully adjustable in the seat and handle bar height. Assembly was easy enough. It rides smoothly, shifts alright, but a tough rough, so I'll have to adjust that... from YT videos I guess. The bike took a long time to arrive, but once it did, it was unusable after we put it together. The gear was either bent or improperly installed, resulting in it “catching” itself in the back wheel. The bike is therefore unusable and needs to be returned, which is a huge hassle due to its size. My wife also ordered the same bike, and the brakes snapped after 1 month of use. The delays in shipping was frustrating, but once received, the bike was an immediate hit with the early teen. Initially the pedals and front brake pads were missing - and had to contact the CS - the responses from the CS were almost always within 12 hours or so, and the parts arrived as originally promised in the first CS email (need to come from China, expect delays in case you need replacement/missing parts). The bike is easy to assemble (video on the product page is helpful), and rides well, Gear shifting is not very smooth and the seat could be broader or more comfortable - but at this price point, this is a good value. Overall, for the intended use by an early teen - some trails, school camp commute, and general biking - this is a good value. ... show more

The delivery took a bit longer than expected, but it arrived well-packaged without any damage. Assembly was pretty simple and only took about 25 minutes using the multi-tool provided in the package. Additional tools would likely be helpful. I've taken 10-mile rides without any issues. It should be noted that this is more of a hybrid bike than a true mountain bike. Falls apart, brakes fail /get loose . Handlebars do not stay tight . Chain falls off after a long ride ( 30 mins with some uphill ) Got the bike for my sister just for a short commute to work , do not recommend. Waste of money .

    • Some problems
I purchased 2 of these bikes for my grandkids for Christmas. One bike went together without problems the other one has been nothing but problematic. First issue, one of the screws that holds the handlebars onto bike was an incorrect size. The thickness and tread size was different from the other 3 screws and who ever did this forced the screw into the nut and stripped some threads. Second, the front wheel is off center and I'm not sure how to correct this. I installed it the same as the other bike whose wheel is centered. Bent fork possibly?? Third, the hand speed changer levers are difficult to push so that the derailleur system changes sprockets (cog wheel). It has completely stopped changing gears either up or down. The user manual doesn't cover the mountain bike assembly instructions where certain areas are different than the other bikes. My one grandson is extremely happy with his bike, the other grandson is very unhappy and had only ridden it once before the speed changer levers quit working. This one may be returned for a replacement. UPDATE: Emailed customer support about problems and they asked me to take bike to local bike shop. Bike shop repaired all issues and HILAND paid for all the repairs. Bike has been working perfectly since then. My grandson is very happy now. ... show more
