  • Awesome shades - but it takes patience to setup
Color: [Knitting]gray Church(light Filtering) Size: Aluminum Valance
Costs were reasonable for the features. Material used in the blind is good and feels durable and high quality. Mounting the blind is simple. Configuring with the remote is tricky and takes lots of patience and trial and error, but eventually it works well. Setting the limits is frustrating and seems to require doing it several times before the blind confirms it. On tip that helped me was to walk away and leave the blind to time out and exit out of its configure mode and then try again 5 minutes later. Integration with Alexa and app Tuya worked very well and was easy to enable. Recommended product! ... show more

  • One of the best purchases I've made on Amazon
Color: [Cloud]grey Grey Back(blackout) Size: Valance-less style
I ordered 9 sets of these motorized shades. I was very careful to read their instructions for taking measurements and did a pretty thorough job measuring my windows/sliding doors. I first ordered 2 sets as kind of a trial but obviously hoping they'd work out, and was very impressed with both the quality and the speed in which they arrived (2 days). The remote control setup was quick and easy and works great. I proceeded to order the other 7 sets I needed (and 1 more remote control). Again I was surprised when they came only 2 days later. All were exactly the same quality and every set I installed was perfectly sized to my window/sliding door. Having read other reviews mentioning their great communication I was kind of expecting them to double check my order since I had one surface mount (vs all the others being inside mount), and sure enough they did reach out to double check, which I thought was great. I haven't setup the controls via the app yet so can't speak to that, although I will be setting it up soon because it would be much more convenient for controlling multiple shades than the 2 remotes I have (which have different shades programmed to each). I feel really good about the value on these, I did not get estimates from the companies that come to your home and try to sell you blinds/shades but I'm guessing that would have been twice the cost. Because this was a significant purchase for me and the product delivered on value/quality/ease of process/etc., I feel like this is one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. ... show more

  • Finally got these working with SmartThings
Color: [Knitting]gray Church(light Filtering) Size: Aluminum Valance
We purchased 7 of these shades in large sizes for our sunroom. They arrived per the promised date, and looked great out of the box. The ingenious little brackets made installation a snap. We were mostly pleased, but I had trouble getting them paired and working with SmartThings. So, we just used the remote control for a few weeks until I found the time (and information on the internet) to get them fully integrated into our smart home environment. And today, finally, I finished the full integration. They are now paired in SmartThings and we can use Google voice commands (via our Nest and the Google Home app) to raise and lower the shades. Here are a few tips for any other customers who may wish to use the ZigBee version of these shades with SmartThings: First - you will need the remote. We purchased multiple blinds, so we needed the 16 channel remote. I think they sell a single-channel remote also. The primary reason for needing the remote, is to set the "limits". Follow the instructions to "bump" the starting (open) position and the down (closed) position with the remote. The remote will also be a nice back up when/if ST and Google are down. You do not need the gateway (USB hardware stick that is offered) for integration with SmartThings - in fact, I think I understand that the Tuya gateway will NOT work with a SmartThings hub - but regardless - it is not needed. You do need a special edge driver for your smartthigns hub. I found one from iquix and it works great: https://github.com/iquix/ST-Edge-Driver/tree/master/tuya-window-shade. I had to add this driver to our hub form my PC - I don't think this can be done on thw cell phone app (but I could be wrong about that) Once you have the edge driver installed on your ST hub, then you need to pair each of the blinds. To put the shades in pairing mode - press the pushbutton on the blinds 5 times, and hold it down on the 5th press. You should get a blinking light on the blinds. Then use the ST app to "add device" via the scan method. THEN - after each of the shades was paired, I had to change the driver. (mine paired originally as "ZigBee thing" and there were no up/down controls). But it's a simple matter in the app to change the driver to the "tuya window shade driver" that I had previously installed on the hub (from iquix). Once the driver was changed - I had up-and-down control of each shade. And after a "synchronize devices" voice command with Google Home - I then had voice control of all the shades. So, we are now VERY pleased with our purchase!! I highly recommend these shades! ... show more

  • Great Product, Great Service, Motors are a pain to program
Color: [Knitting] Grey (Blackout) Size: Valance-less style
I bought 15 of these for our condo. The blinds are well made and fit perfectly based on my measurements. I had a problem with 2 of the motors, but they quickly sent replacements. These installed easy, but programming the motors is a pain. Bring lots of patience, as the motors seem to have a mind of their own. You will find yourself programming and reprogramming the limits until you get it right. The good news is they actually include printed instructions now which explain everything in detail. I bought a couple of these blinds a few months ago and they referred you to a YouTube video to figure out how to program the motors. I did buy the hub so I can link to Google Home/Alexa. After installing all the blinds I enabled the Hub and linked all the blinds. I then found that it is much easier to fine tune the upper and lower limits using the remote with the Tuya app. So if I was going to do it again I would have just linked the blinds to the remote, and then linked to the hub and done the limits via the app. It probably would have saved me hours. Haven't played with the Google Home setup much. It will link to the Tuya app and bring everything into Google Home, but it seems to only do all the way up or all the way down, with no way to stop it somewhere in the middle. The Tuya App does give you complete control though. Bottom line is these are great value, look and work great, but they are a beast to set up. ... show more
