Description

The GloWear® 8384 Type R Class 3 Thermal Quilted High Visibility Jacket is the ideal warm winter work jacket for safety on the job. This Type R high visibility jacket has an insulated interior with fleece for warmth in frigid conditions. This winter workwear features 160g thermal insulation plus fleece, which traps body heat to keep you warmer in the cold. The 300D oxford polyester outer shell with PU coating resists water and wind, for dry comfort all day. The black panels hide dirt and wear. Cuffs feature hook and loop straps to seal out the cold. POCKETS ACCESSORIES Features external front pockets with snap flaps, combination cell phone chest pocket, dual-slot pen pocket on arm, and dual-mic tabs for clipping radios. ANSI-COMPLIANT This reflective coat is a Class 3 garment and features 2” ANSI-compliant reflective stripes for nighttime visibility. This safety high-visibility jacket is rated Type R Class 3 for increased visibility. Type R Class 3 garments feature more fluorescent background material and retroreflective material than other classes, to ensure maximum visibility and safety in all conditions. This high- visibility clothing is perfect for those working in construction, transportation, baggage handling, municipalities or around work near moving vehicles.

There's reviews here for the wrong product that's being offered. Confusing. But I'll leave a legit review for this actual coat. This coat is AMAZING. I bought this because I'm a garbage man and needed something warm and visible during dark nights. It DOES NOT disappoint, trust me. This thing will have you sweating in no time. It keeps you toasty. It's also big enough to layer underneath for frigid temperatures. I've worn this when it was 15°F outside during my shift. I had a T shirt and a hoodie on underneath this coat and I was warm all night. Mind you, I ride on back of a garbage truck from house to house picking up bags all night. Not only will this keep you warm but its waterproof and windproof. I don't say that lightly either. I'm the first guy to leave bad reviews to products that just don't cut it but the only cons would be nitpicking and I'll share those thoughts shortly. This coat has a strong zipper that zips clean up to your nose. It also has strong snap buttons for extra wind and protection from the elements. Each sleeve has a Velcro hook and loop strap on the wrists to lock in over your gloves while also keeping the elements out. There's 2 independent cinch cords inside the coat near the front bottom to close tight to again keep the elements at bay. There's also a wind proof and waterproof hood with draw strings that rolls up and stores inside the collar via velco as well. A nice touch. The hood is not insulated but I totally agree with it not being insulated. It's thin and will block wind, rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, and anything else. Which is perfect because when it's that cold out, your inner layers should be the main insulated and heat trapping layers. So if you have a hoodie on underneath with an insulated hood, you pop that on then pop the coat's wind and waterproof hood on right over it. And again, it's built for this exact layering. It has a zip pocket and button pocket inside, with 2 double button pockets on the outside. I cannot say a single bad thing about this coat. I don't know how they're selling it for so cheap but this thing is absolute quality. I especially love how they've made it extra long so it covers the jewels and the behind to keep everything warm and block the wind. I'm a big guy also. 6'4" pushing 325lbs and a 4x fits me perfectly. Now, it is a little bit on the big side but I love that about it because layering is essential when the temperature drops to the single digits and negatives. I can nitpick a couple things. It traps EVERYTHING. So if you Sweat profusely like I do, your layers closest to your skin will be soaked in no time. But, you still stay warm. Being wet on the inside definitely sucks but you will not get cold inside. Even being damp or wet from sweat stays warm. If you work with the zipper halfway zipped, it allows enough air in that you won't Sweat much anyway. This is exactly what I do unless it's in the single digit temps. Then you have to keep zipped and bundled up. Plain and simple, this coat is absolutely amazing. For $50 I didn't think there was a chance of getting top notch quality but boy was I wrong. Don't hesitate to purchase. You won't regret it. Good day ... show more

I just ordered the third one of these jackets. My dad, brother and I all work outside in the elements and require hi vis gear. This eliminates the need for a hi vis vest over winter gear. It is fully water proof. I was in a absolute down pour and stayed dry. It is insanely warm. I have other gear that cost way more and do not perform as good. I have had this one since early November so I will see how well it lasts. So far zero issues with it.     • Full of Pleasant Surprises .

I'm used to Ergodyne quality so it wasn't a surprise that it's good quality . From the dual outer pockets (2 upper that snap and 2 hand warmer pockets ) that are fleece lined top the dual inner pockets (vs just 1 on my bomber) to the extra warm lining , even though it is extremely light weight , to the rip stop fabric I'm extremely satisfied with this jacket. Though the lining isn't removable it doesn't make the jacket cumbersome to move around in . Being non removable is why I went 4X this time instead of my usual 3X in heavy jackets and I'm glad I did. It's a little roomier in the shoulders without adding to the sleeve length enough to be a problem . This is my favorite brand for work jackets and balaclavas and I'm glad I tried out a longer one this time . Storm flaps are a must for long term ability to block the wind because though the zipper is tough it's still plastic and is going to get broken at some point when what I do for a living. I went with orange because it stands out better in the day than yellow does . If I worked nights I would have opted for yellow color for its better ability to be seen at night . ... show more

coat is very warm. it is also longer than a normal coat which was a plus it goes down past the waist line. my husband normally wears a 2xl tall and still this jacket goes past his waist line for reference which is a good thing for all the cold he has been working in. it is water proof. very light weight but very warm. the high vis style was nice for the type of work he does keeps him safe. ... show more

Working in construction, I've spent a lot of time out in cold, windy weather, and this coat shrugs it all off. I bought an XL to make sure I had room for extra layers and it fits nicely, but honestly it's so warm, you could probably get away with skipping the layers and ordering whatever your normal size would be. It's not too bulky, but the outer material can be a bit stiff, so some movements are can be a little awkward. It is durable though, having held up to getting concrete splashed onto it and rubbing against coarse materials as I climb around construction sites. ... show more

Thing is a life saver. Nice and thick, kept me nice and warm through the winter. Water proofing worked great in the rain and snow. The hood being able to be rolled up, out of the way is a nice touch. The reflectors and high viz are a nice touch for the job sites. Holds up well in the wash also.
