Description

Power Pet doors are motor driven and activated by a tiny ultrasonic collar. Unlike other electronic pet doors that merely unlock a hinged panel, requiring your pet to push it open, Patented Power Pet doors open completely under their own power. When your pet approaches, the air-tight translucent super-strength resin door panel quickly and quietly powers upward, disappearing into the stylish housing. Mounted in hermetically sealed grooves for air-tight closure, this mounting arrangement makes it impossible for an intruder to kick it out. An automatic dead-bolt locking feature adds a high level of security. The result is a secure pet door that allows your pets to come and go as they please while their animal friends are politely asked to stay out. The digitally coded signal emitted from your pet's ultrasonic transmitter collar allows the Power Pet to open only when your pet is on a direct approach. 4-way access control lets you select from In Only, Out Only, Full Access or Closed and Locked. Honestly this product rocks. I've had it for a year and if I ever move I'll have to install another one. Wouldn't want to go without it. My dogs can go in and out as they please. No more waking up in the middle of the night to let your dogs out. They can do it themselves. When I'm away from the house for long periods of time they can let themselves in and out. Total lifesaver. The batteries in the collars are good. They probably last a few months. Buy a pack of batteries to have on hand. There is an indicator light on the collar. I bought one of those dog doors that they had to push through. Dog didn’t want to do it. So I ordered this one instead that opens and closes. The door works great. My dog and cat go in and out all day. I purposely bought this one with Wi-Fi and app so I could see history and get notifications. That does not work. I email the support desk every day and they tell me to hard reset and install the door again. Doesn’t work at all. Even thought I check and the door is connected to Wi-Fi with all bars the app doesn’t recognize it so I can’t see history or get notifications. Also I put this on a door and then had to pay $110 for batteries. With the battery and no AC power the door connects to Wi-Fi for 5 minutes then you never get Wi-Fi again. So my handyman had to install an outlet next to the door so it could be plugged in all the time. Timer doesn’t work either. I have it set not to let them exit at 5pm but the key Fob still works and they go outside. So that functionality is inaccurate along with their app. I’m writing this review so all potential buyers know actually what the current status is. Hope they fix their app. ... show more

Don’t waste your time with these doors! I’ve had one for two years and it has been endless problems. Sensors failing, the inner cable snapping repeatedly and now the main circuit board. At first they were helpful with part replacements. After the 3rd cable inside had snapped in a matter of a couple months, the customer service rep I contacted through Amazon suggested I reach directly out to the company because there may be another issue causing the cable to break again. After calling repeatedly for over a week and no one answering their phone I went back through Amazon. They took my phone number and had someone call me. This rep offered to send a whole new door for free, as long as I returned the broken one. I thought this was great! When I received and installed the new door it worked at first and I returned the old one. Within 2 days the new one stopped working completely. The issue wasn’t the cable this time. After troubleshooting with the company’s email contact it seems the main circuit board isn’t working on the brand new door they just sent me. Now they refuse to help further and have told me I can buy a new circuit board on my own. All I needed originally was a $20 cable, but they offered to completely replace the door. Now I need an $80 circuit board. Why should I waste more money on this door now when there will likely be yet another problem soon. Or I can remove this defective dog door and be left with a huge hole in my exterior door! - Update: the company contacted me through Amazon after my review and offered to replace the door again with one that had been tested and proved to work correctly. The new door is working as expected and so far, all is good. I changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars. ... show more

We bought this door in late 2022. I had to move some wires in the wall to make it work in the best location for us, but beyond that installation was pretty straight forward. If being installed in a 2x6 exterior wall you definitely need the tunnel sold separately. We have three labs and have another that comes to visit and they all do great with it. My wife and I are at times gone for the entire day and this gives the them the ability to come and go as they need. We’ve had absolutely no issues with the door itself. I change the batteries out on the collars every 6-8 weeks or when I see the door not responding as quick as usual. I zip tied the transponder to their actual collars and that has worked great. We are getting ready to move into a new home and are already planning to buy another. I was a little surprised at the price of this door initially, but no longer.
