Note: I highly recommend leaving electrical work to trained professionals! Line voltage is dangerous! My review discusses benefits to non-professionals, but don't take that as a sign that just anyone *should* use one of these! This is a high quality precision instrument suitable for use by electricians, but simple enough to be used safely by lay people. Unlike most cheap multimeters, you do not need to manually set the details for each mode, thus only requiring knowledge of what each mode *does* in order to use it effectively. The included manual gives specific operating instructions, but they are not necessary to use this effectively. Having a simple-to-use multimeter like this aids tremendously in troubleshooting all sorts of electrical issues, and having the current detection feature saves a ton of time when working alone on circuits without needing to carry an additional tool.

I’m no electrician, so this leak detector is great for me. I’m sure professional grade ones function on a whole nother level, but for small DIY jobs this works. It has read accurately so far and seems to be well made. I had an electrician friend of mine come over and he checked it out for me. He gave a thumbs up.

This product performs exceptionally well and is incredibly user-friendly. The display is easy to read, which adds to its convenience. I have used it a few times and have had it sitting for a while and I have still had no need to charge the battery yet so it definitely last a little while. This is probably better for homeowners rather than professional use, it offers great value for the price. For someone who might only need to use it a few times, it’s definitely worth the investment and to have around for those times you will need it. Overall, I’m pleased with its performance and would recommend it to those looking for an affordable and reliable option.

Finding a clamp ammeter rated for low current readings in mA is hard to find. I thought for fifty bucks it might be too good to be true but thought I’d try, it turns out I was right. In DC mA, what you use to find a draw on a car, press the button five times to finally zero. As soon as you move it around, it will start reading 100 to 150 mA in thin air. Way too much variation. Maybe at higher amperage readings it’s fine, but when trying to find low current draws it’s useless.

Great... but.. Yes, while I agree totally with the positive reviews regarding the display quality and the compactness of the unit. And yes it works like a champ. And I also agree also with reviewer "S" that the NCV feature (non-contact volage) which is "the ability to detect AC or DC leakage current without untwisting two or three pair wires," this is a very unique feature that a lot of more expensive meters do not have, and that should be a big selling point, but the customers need more information about it. THE BIG PROBLEM FOR ME WAS That I discovered one day before the return window closed that the only usbc cable that would properly connect to the charging port was the one they sent. Every other USBC cable we had here would either fall out of the charging port or not make contact at all. So if you get this unit be sure you test other usbc cables with it. I suspect that the particular one I received had a defective port. Now I've got a run and return it by tomorrow. I probably will order another one because I think it's cool, but if it turns out to have the same problem with the usb charging port I'm going to have to say take a pass on it altogether.
