I finally got around to using it since I wanted to use it outside aware that some stone dust is not good to breathe. I was amazed how easily it cut some rocks, and others it took longer. The cuts were very smooth using the new blade provided. It did spray some water on me since I didn't use the guard provided, but it was a lot less and quieter than a tile saw! Very satisfied with the saw! I do have larger rocks to cut and explore, but this is limited to a 3" max cut... I just need to go find more interesting rocks to cut open! ... show more

Cut several agates and other stones. Works like advertised. If you use the correct amount of water it does not make much of a mess. People complain that there is no drain, but this is very light and easy to dump when you are finished, so I don't see that this is a problem.

Style: Two 6" Diamond Saw Blades
This Rock Saw is simple to use and easy to set up. Recommend that you get a sturdy work bench to set it on. I am excited to put the rocks I cut to put them in to tumbler to polish them. The price is right for the value of the rock saw. Delivery was on target.

Style: Two 6" Diamond Saw Blades
It’s a great trim saw for lapidary work on turquoise. I did have to loosen and adjust the arbor that holds the saw blade so it would fit through the lid without rubbing but that was no big deal. With this kind of saw, you must dump the water when you’re done. It’s made for that. If you don’t like having to carry the whole saw to the sink or the yard to dump it, this probably isn’t for you. You can always put some water based saw lube in it if you prefer to leave the water sitting in it, but it will be full of mud and I just don’t like that. Be aware that the saw blade does shift a bit when you’re cutting your slabs or rough. I didn’t buy the guide for this saw because my friend has it on hers and she said it’s completely pointless since the blade shifts when cutting. If you want that kind of precision, you should probably invest in a higher tech saw. I didn’t use the included saw blades but bought one that was recommended by a master Lapidarist. The MK-303 diamond saw which is 0.5mm thick with a 5/8 arbor is perfect for cutting turquoise and it fits this saw. ... show more

Amazon doesn't sell 6 inch or 10 inch diamond sintered blades with a 5/8 arbor hole. The sell some that come with a supposed 5/8 bushing but they don't work. I contacted the manufacturer directly and purchased a blade from them, the cheapest shipping was 14$ for priority mail 2 business days. That was 9 days ago and still I still don't have a blade. So I basically have a 500 dollar paper weight. I'll be returning this. ... show more

I'm knew to lapidary equipment. I did a bit of research and decided on Hi-Tech. It came securely packaged. Instructions are clear, concise, easy to understand. The company also provides video guide to set up as well. Definitely worth the investment.
