it was not that easy to assemble - i needed a drill and there was one mistake in the directions. But it is worth the effort! It's a really great, useful, perfectly-sized stool for my 2.5 yr old. This is a nice toddler step-up. I like the finish options and the cut-out handle that makes it easy to move around. It looks very sturdy and the steps are large and deep enough to think anyone can use it. But if you weigh over 100 pounds - don't! I did and heard cracking sounds before I quickly got off of it. Easy build, I was able to put it together with my kids and make it a little shop lesson. They love it more knowing they build it. The design is clean and simple and ties into any bathroom design. Seems sturdy so far for my 3.5 y/o’s. Perfect height for them to wash their hands or get onto the toilet by themselves. We have several nicely crafted toys from Melissa & Doug that will no doubt stand the test of time. This stool, however, has a few notable issues: it arrived with damages to the veneer on the top step (pictured); the bottom step is a bit wobbly, regardless of thoroughly tightening the screws; and the veneer finish on the steps is quite slippery.
