This product is not a professional hearing aid they could be programmed for only specific tones and pitches. However, for somebody who is hard of hearing these, do a great job of amplify the surrounding sound and allowing them to hear what is going on, basically making it easier for them to engage and socialize in an environment or otherwise they will be left out and unable to be a part of the socialization.
