We live in Southern California and my daughter can get cold easily in water so I have been trying to get a wetsuit that keeps her warm in ocean in early June. She is an average 4T and this brand actually fits her well around the neck and armpits, but the lengths of the arms and legs are short (though still acceptable). My main concern is the smell. We ended up going on vacation to an Island in N.C in March. Man the water was cold but with this suit my son never wanted to come in. It made such a difference and he played in the water for hours. If you want your kids to enjoy the water and its not warm enough these are the best things,

According to my 7 years old son's experience, 1. It kept him warm while he is in the water. You will still feel the cold while getting into the water. 2. The smell of the material is really strong. 3. The neck is kind of tight. We discovered his neck has a small horizontal cut due to the suit. 4. The long sleeve version is kinda hard to take off. 5. We live in Southern California. The ocean is cold here in spring and early summer. Got this for my 12 year old daughter. The sizing chart was accurate. Fit well. My daughter already used it on trips to Catalina and Newport Beach in early June. The only kid in the day camp to bring a wet suit. The only kid to play in the water all day. The other kids who were brave enough to go in complained immediately, didn't immerse themselves, and left the water early. My daughter swam and boogie boarded to her heart's content. She liked the color and style, even after having seen the famous brand names. Local sporting goods shops had only brand name wet suits in stock starting at double the cost of this one and going up to six times the price. For sure those brands are stylish and are made with better materials and workmanship, but this suit looked good on my child for a fraction of the price. She'll outgrow it in six months, so am glad we got this instead. I didn't measure, but I'm doubting that the material is actually 3mm. I use a Body Glove 5mm and in comparison this brand seems to skimp a bit on the material thickness (just a feeling, not a measurement) and quality, but it kept her warm. When she outgrows this one, will consider a larger size from the same brand. Maybe she can switch to Rip Curl, O'Neill or Body Glove, etc. when she stops growing, but for now, the brand names are too pricey for a rapidly growing child. ... show more
