I don’t think I am a large person, I’m a 4or6 usually. 5’7”. And have a curvier body and not a surf girl body. I am not fat by any means. But the cheaper wet suits like this one is stretchy, warm, and I love the zippers! Easy to take on and off. Just better than the normal brands that can cost as much as $800. I am 5'5.5" and about 190lbs with a classic pear shape (I typically wear size 14-16 pants) - many of my measurements exceeded those of the size chart by 1-3" (especially hips but also bust) and I was worried this would not fit at all, but it's fine. So for anyone else out there who needs to hear this: if you're an inch or two over in measurements this will stretch to fit fine. I am sitting around in it and it's not cutting of circulation or anything. A little warm but I do it for science. I considered getting a men's suit to allow for my hips but I was worried it would be too big on top. As it is now, the fit is a bit roomier in the shoulders, so I'm glad I stuck with the women's sizes. I will share updates here as I use the suit - mostly using for sea kayaking in the shoulder season.

I get very cold in the pool, especially when there is a breeze, and this takes care of the problem. As soon as the water gets into the suit, it is immediately warmed by the body. It is a challenge to put on (it is tight, as it’s supposed to be) and especially to take off when it’s wet. You have to unzip all the zippers, then peel it off from the shoulders first. Peel it off inside out and hang to dry before storing. I’ve also washed it on cold in the washing machine.
