I have a number of O'Neil wetsuits that are great, but really didn't like this jacket. Wanted something thinner for the kids that is easy to get on and off. This is too thin, and fit is stange. It just feels cheap. We previously had the xcel version which was way better.

    • Sizing and “Open Box” issue

Normally I’d take an XL in just about everything, occasionally XXL in the very slimmest fitting brands/cuts. Per the sizing chart, I ordered an XXL as an open box item. Sizing was not really even close, seems like I would have needed at least a 3x, which was not an option. Also, the zipper was extremely difficult to set to bottom before even trying this on, not sure if that’s the manufacturer’s quality or a reason why this was open box, which would be an Amazon QC miss. I have an O’Neil Reactor neoprene sport flotation vest and the sizing was correct, and otherwise I believe this jacket would have been good if it fit and worked properly. ... show more

5' 9'' 165 lbs. I bought both the medium and large because I wasn't sure which would fit better. I use it for cold days in a heated outdoor pool. The medium is fairly snug but keeps the water out. I have to really suck in my stomach to zip it up. Once in the water if feels less tight and is more comfortable. The Large fits more comfortably on dry land but I have to wear a rash guard underneath, so the water doesn't seep in so quickly. With a rash guard it works great. I find I am using the large more often now and my wife is borrowing my medium jacket and she loves it. We both highly recommend these jackets for recreational swimming. They work great to keep you warm when you get in and out of the pool. ... show more

Based on O’Neil’s sizing chart I ordered a medium, just like all my regular shirts. When it arrived I couldn’t even get it around me, so I returned it and exchanged it for a large. The large fits about right, but the zipper is virtually impossible to close. I’m 5’8” and 155 lbs, so no way should I need an XL, but that’s probably where I should have ended up.
