I had hernia that would protrude at times and getting this belt would help me control it but finally the day came where I coughed and it popped out and wouldn't go back so it was incarcerated I then had it removed. This product doesn't hold my hernia in. My hernia is due to a botched surgery that led to a lacerated bowel, 5 days of sepsis & damage due to the fecal matter. I can have it repaired, but the surgery would take 4 to 6 hours & I'm 79 years old, so not recommended. It really isn't wide enough or strong enough. I've worn it about 5 times & the fabric is beginning to show signs of wear. ... show more

I wish I had gotten this belt before my hernia surgery -- this belt was much easier to put on than the one I received at the hospital, and has a small pillow with hook and loop attachment to place additional pressure on the hernia itself. The belt washes well, and has yet to lose its stretch and original shape (I couldn't say that about the hospital belt).
