The self-sharpening knife block slots boast built-in ceramic honing wheels that automatically sharpen when knives are stored or removed. I did a lot of research for a great set of knives. I watched a ton of videos. My wife is a wizard in the kitchen and on the grill, and we've been dealing with the same junk knives for a long time. I ended up choosing these, and they are the best knives we have ever used. The self sharpening holders are not only very handy for keeping the knives continuously sharp, but it's a lot of fun putting them in and taking them out. This has been my dream set of knives after 30 years of my last set of Henckels I passed those to my daughter and got a new set so many more knives and even scissors The block is so beautiful sitting on my counter too

    • Stop looking. This is the set you want to buy.
Personally, the only thing that kept me from initially purchasing this set was that I saw it read Made in China. (This isn't the first set of Zwilling or Henckels I've owned over the last 30 years). Eventually, however, and only after looking EVERYWHERE else, I came back to this set. I'm glad I did. The set I received are RAZOR sharp. The scissors are WONDERFUL. I've cooked for years, and I can tell you, be careful with these knives. They aren't forgiving of slips. DON'T put them in your dishwasher. I don't know how someone could order these and upon receiving them, claim they look like they've been "hammered" or "dull". This is a very handsome set. I can't imagine anyone with an appreciation for fine cutlery being dissatisfied with this set. ... show more

The knives are awesome, no complaints. The holder is huge. We sent it back because the holder took up too much space on our countertop. I'm not sure why it's made so long unless it's for balance. We replaced it with a set that hangs on the wall with a magnetic strip and we love it.

I have been watching the price on this set for a while. Purchased them on Cyber Monday with a $50.00 savings and boy I am glad I did! I owned my own restaurant for years and loved a good set of knifes. This set covers all the bases, have good weight and balance and stay shape.
