  • Best knives ever
Style: Rubberwood
Top quality knives that I will be giving as Christmas gifts

  • Good quality knife set for a great price.
Style: Rubberwood
This was a gift for someone else. I have an older set that is German made. This new set is not nearly the quality of the German set, but a whole lot cheaper. The blades on these are much thinner. Based on reviews I found a set which is made in Spain, and avoided the ones made in China. This Spanish made set is almost as good as the German set (no longer made in Germany). However, the steak knives are still made in China and are pretty flimsy. Bottom line: Get the ones made in Spain. If you do an enlarged view you can read the place of manufacture on the blade of the big knife. The description does not tell you where they are made. ... show more

  • Great starter set
Style: Rubberwood
Henckels never lets down. I have never purchased "stamped" knives. These are forged in Spain not Germany but we're purchased as a gift for my daughter and they are great.

  • great

They hold there edge well, Sharpener works good, The scissors has a "return to open" spring that automatedly opens them back up and holds well in your hands. That's why it has a latch on the end. We have a black block and looks great on our counter. I do wish that the manufacture would 1, Angle the block down slightly so the knifes were more forward to make it easier to get the large knifes in and out. We have to set the block out a little from under our top cupboards to pull them out. But we had the same problem with brands. ... show more

  • Overpriced Starter Set
Style: Rubberwood
This knife/block set by Henckels is something to consider if you are starting from scratch. You get a set of steak knives, chef knife, Santoku, boning, paring, bread, etc.. So, if you have NO knives right now, you can cover all the bases with this complete set of knives. All that said, these knives are mediocre at best. They do come sharp out of the box for sure, but that's about it. I compared the Santoku in this set to my Lamson Santoku and the difference is palpable in every way. The difference in the thickness of the blades is obvious to the eyes easily felt by the hands when comparing the two. The chef, Santoku, and other longer knives are too easily flexed. The steak knives are just plain strange - a combination serrated/smooth blade. Again, flimsy in the hand, with minimum heft. Just the fact that the steak knives are serrated should give one an idea of the quality of the set, but this construction is not obvious in the product photos. Bottom line is I got these to use in my 2nd residence and they will do fine for there. Even so, I will supplement with a better quality Santoku to use with the set. Again, these knives are fine for a starter set, but if you've ever held/used a quality knife, you most likely won't be happy with these. Lastly, these might be more appropriately priced at the $150-$175 range, so you're paying quite a premium for the Henckel name. Not recommended at this price point. ... show more

Attractive and very sharp. I had been used to rounder handles, so the sharper-edged handles have taken a while to acclimate to.

  • Great knives and great alue
Style: Ashwood
My wife and I searched for a good set of knives without having to buy items we do not need, like a spreader, or cleaver. This set matched what we were seeking and was perfect for our needs.
