  • Great jacket! Works in weather from 35º-75º!
Size: Large Color: 990 Black
I live in the Pacific Northwest and this is my go-to jacket. It's warm enough to wear on my morning walks down into the 30s, although anything lower than that would elicit a second layer. It's meant to be a rain protectant, but does retain a bit of heat. Most raincoats can feel like wearing a plastic bag and make you sweat a lot, and this coat does not feel like that at all. It breathes and is great. ... show more

I wear this jacket so often. I just love it. Even when it’s not raining. Great purchase. Would definitely recommend. Thanks.

  • I absolutely LOVE this jacket. Read my review about the fit.
Size: Large Color: 597 Navy
This jacket is GREAT! It's almost January in Connecticut and I'm still wearing it, it's warm although soon I'll have to switch to something a bit warmer. But the water resistance is wonderful in the rain - the water beads up and rolls right off. The fact that there is a hood concealed in the collar is helpful too. This jacket is very well made and feels quality all around. I'm 5'8", about 170, and a lot of the reviews said these run small so I took their word for it and ordered a Large instead of my typical Medium. I'm glad I did - the Large fits PERFECT and the sides of the jacket appear to be somewhat tapered/fitted which makes it look very flattering in my opinion. I'm super happy with the fit. I've since ordered the HH Midlayer fleece lined version of this in the same size and unfortunately it fits and looks more boxy - probably due to the added weight and fleece inside. But as far as this particular jacket is concerned - I love it, it blocks the wind and rain and keeps my pretty warm even in cold temperatures! ... show more

  • H/H Quality At A Low, Low Price (Pinch Me Amazon, You Houdinis of Internet Commerce!)
As a preface to my review I have an insight to share. The fact that you're apparently reading the reviews prior to placing your order is occasion for self congratulation. But first, we owe a debt of gratitude to those who came to Amazon (some, as long as four, even five years ago) to purchase their Helly Hansen Men's Dubliner Jackets, then took the time to pen thoughtful product reviews. It's thanks to them that today we know, for instance, as a matter of indisputable fact, that this jacket has a "slim" fit. Armed with this acquired wisdom there is now no excuse for any buyer to be displeased with his new Dubliner because it's "too tight." And if so, should he glimpse his sausagesque reflection in a window at, say, a Golden Corral or a Hooter's, he has only himself to blame for his pustulent visage. (Nice jacket though!). So for God's sake, remember to select your jacket-size accordingly. (I purchased my jacket in a Size-XL, recognizing that the Size-L -- my usual size -- would not provide sufficient room for me to wear a substantial base-layer.) As for my review: this Dubliner is the best deal I've ever found on Amazon. It's almost a crime how little I paid for the jacket. I already owned two H/H products (a Lerwick Rain Jacket and a Verglas Down Vest) so I'm familiar with the brand's quality and pricing. At the time that I purchased this jacket I had originally planned to get it in Black. However, as I began looking at the color choices, I decided that Racer Blue would be a nice departure from my otherwise monochromatic wardrobe of outerwear. It also turned out, most fortunately, that the Dubliner, in Racer Blue, happened to cost about $40.00 less than it did in Black. I paid exactly $68.79 for the jacket on 1/9/16. Today (2/6/16) this very same Dubliner is selling for $130.00, which is still a good price for H/H. ... show more

  • Nice jacket-runs small
This is a nice jacket – I would buy it again. However, as other reviewers have noted, it runs on the small side. My last rain jacket was a medium but based on the reviews I ordered this in large which turned out to be a good decision. I wanted some extra room to allow me to wear a sweater or light fleece underneath and also a little extra length to fall slightly below the waist, The large size accomplishes that, yet the sleeves don’t seem to be too long. Even so, the jacket seems to still fit snuggly around the mid section. I’ve worn it a few times in light to moderate rain and it has kept me dry while the hood ties have kept the hood on in a stiff wind. The inside pocket is nice for storing my cell phone; the outside pockets are not as deep as those on my previous jacket but seem sufficient and have a nice soft lining that keeps your hands warm when needed. I haven’t worn it in warm weather yet but after a day wearing it while doing moderate paced walking in 50 degree temperatures it seemed to let the perspiration out sufficiently. The hood stows away nicely and without too much hassle when not in use. I wish it had a 2-way zipper to allow you to unzip it from the bottom when sitting down. The Velcro closures keeping the storm flap closed over the zipper are a nice touch and the velcro around the wrists allow you to get the type of fit that you want in that area. All in all, it seems to be a good purchase for a casual rain jacket that can be worn in a variety of situations. ... show more
