Omigosh, I love, love, love this jacket! So much so, that I bought three different colors of it. It is actually the perfect weight for both fall and spring, and even much of the winter. I've really only noticed the cold when it gets down into the teens or cooler. The fact that it has a hood (which can be concealed) and is waterproof are really the reasons for my purchase. Oh, and I was also able to get two of them in a Black Friday sale for around $130 each; so if you can wait for that, all the power to you! ... show more

We accidentally bought this for a ski jacket. My teenager pulled up ski jackets and this popped up and we needed it quickly so didn’t read the description. So when it arrived we were surprised. However, it does have a lightweight plush interior. But it’s basically a heavy duty windbreaker/rain jacket. With that said, he wore it skiing anyway in West Virginia. Temps were around 30 degrees. Maybe dipped into the 20s for night skiing. And it poured rain on them the first day - Not a drop of water penetrated his jacket. His ski pants and ski gloves were soaked through. So, definitely recommend. It does what it’s intended for. If you would like to use it for skiing and you ski in milder climates or warmer weather days, this would be perfect. Big fan of softshell and I loved my Arc'Teryx Gamma MX, this one works the same at half the price. Helly Hansen is no small brand either. The fit is exactly same with Gamma MX, XL for both (I am 6'3, 200 lbs).

I will preface this by saying we ordered two different sizes, but ended up returning both. NOT because they didn't or wouldn't function as advertised, but because my husband has super wide shoulders and a long torso. The first jacket was too small in the shoulders. Returned. Next size up fit fine in the shoulders and sleeve length, but not long enough to cover the top of his booty. We are going to Iceland and wanted something just a touch longer that he could layer. If he would have gone up one more size, the sleeves would have been way too long for him, but probably would have fit fine throughout the torso. I also have this jacket, (women's) and love it. So the jacket itself is fantastic for cutting out the wind/rain. It looks stylish. Just couldn't get a size that would work for my husband. We really wanted to get him the Helly Hansen jacket, but unfortunately just wasn't meant to be. ... show more
