  • The CASIO is the same price but much better for two reasons
Color: Black
This calculator is essentially a knock off of the CASIO fx-300MS. The CASIO is the same price but much better for two reasons: 1) I noticed keys are sensitive to the touch unlike the Helect brand which required extra force to ensure the number was entered; 2) the CASIO model offers a solar panel. After realizing I had to forcefully enter each number to ensure my calcs were correct I decided I would rather smash this calculator with a hammer rather than return it. ... show more

  • Best bang for buck
Color: Black
It’s perfect! I know you can get cheaper calculators at the dollar tree etc but it has lots of functions. It’s perfect for math and science classes. It’s a scientific calculator and doesn’t do graphing in case you were wondering. I use it to calculate formulas for pharmacology and physiology classes at school for the nursing program. It comes with a nice case as well. The “Log” button is the most handy for me. This works the best! ... show more

  • Simple to use
Color: Black
I've had this calculator for about 5 years, and only had to replace it because the two small button-type batteries in it finally died. It had a small cover that could be opened for battery replacement, but the cost of two new batteries was less than the cost of the new calculator. This new one is almost exactly identical to the old one, except it doesn't have the battery access cover. I imagine I could replace the batterie sin the new one by removing six tiny screws and opening the entire back of the unit, if needed. I am a recently retired engineer, and used the calculator daily since I bought it. It is a lot simpler to use then many high-priced calculators from well known manufacturers. If you don't need graphing functions, this one is a good deal. ... show more

  • Price is right and is very similar to a TI calculator
Color: Black
At first glance, this looks like our Texas Instruments scientific calculator and works pretty much the same. So far it's been used for basic calculations but I purchased it to help as my student gets into high maths. Again, I am going to compare it to our TI calculator - this one doesn't feel as sturdy or well made but as long as we are careful with it it should be okay. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. It is for a junior high student so I am not sure if it will survive the school year but the price was right and it helps with homework. ... show more

  • Nice Low Cost Calculator
Color: Black
This is a perfectly good low end calculator. It has all the functions one needs to get through high school and probably well into college. It does trig, log and so on. It has a two line LCD, lots of buttons and everything else one might expect. Yes, you can pay more and get something fancier, but I've been quite satisfied. ... show more

  • You cannot *not* buy this one
Color: Black
I didn’t expect much for $9, but I was pleasantly surprised. No messing about with batteries and such; it worked fine right out of the box. It comes with a nice little (and illustrated) instruction booklet. If you’re not familiar with full-function calculators, be sure to put the booklet some place where you’ll find it. It comes with a nice hard slide-on cover, which you can remove, turn over, and slide it on the back, so it doesn’t get misplaced while you are doing calculations. The best thing though, is the size. It measures 3 ½” x 6”. That means that all the buttons are larger than regular-size handhelds, and feels quite substantial. If you need a full-fuction calculator, you cannot *not* buy this one. • Calculates OK but feels cheap.
Color: Black
I was torn between a TI and this. I should have spent a couple more bucks and gotten the TI. The keys on the Helect are hard plastic. Everything about it feels really cheap-and it is. The case and cover both have rough, sharp edges so poor molding. Just kind of all around crappy. If you don't want to spend a couple of extra bucks it will probably work fine. Maybe the new TI's aren't any better. I have a very old TI-35X that I love. It has soft buttons and basic conversions that I use all the time. I have a somewhat newer TI-30XIIS but I never liked the way you enter data. It's got hard plastic keys also but still has a little more quality feel to it than the Helect. I just got the Helect as back up for when I misplace my TI-35X. The Helect will certainly not be going back but I do regret my choice. This is interesting. I just noticed that this H1002 is absolutely identical to the Casio fx-300MS with the exception that the Casio also has a solar cell. Is it a clone or does Helect make the fx-300MS for Casio??? ... show more

  • Intermittent functioning calculator
Color: Black
I am very disappointed in this product! When I revived it, the calculator wouldn’t even turn on. I left it a couple hours then tried again. This time it came on but only worked for a few minutes, then turned off. The next day I tried to turn it on and it would flash on the screen like it came on but then it’d go blank again and wouldn’t do anything for a couple of minutes. So it is not very reliable. ... show more
