I first fell in love with Susan Kaufman’s pictures on Instagram, like so many others, and anxiously waited for this book. I absolutely love the pictures, and the suggested walks. I will be in NYC later this summer and can’t wait to get back there and do at least one of her suggested walks She brings the city alive. I grew up there and so many images bring me back to the best side of life in the city. I couldn’t recommend this book more! I’ve gifted it multiple times and it’s always a winner. ... show more

For anyone curious about New York City's neighborhoods, a must-look. Not text-heavy, which is great because the photos are obviously the main feature. Exceptional. It was satisfying to read each neighborhood with breaks in between. Rereads can focus more on details overlooked. This book has so much potential. If only it were larger. The photos are nice, but this is a gift for someone planning a trip and I would've paid more for a coffee table book that really shows off the photos. It will be a good gift, but bigger photos would have been nicer and going to a bookstore to view in person before deciding will be a safer buying strategy ... show more
