I had gotten to the point that I could barely walk. Every step was incredibly painful. I went to the doc and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis in both feet and Achilles tendonitis in one leg. It was so severe that they gave me shots in my feet to help me function. After reviewing several exercises with me she said I needed to find some heel inserts with at least .5" of lift to help also. I had tried almost EVERY kind of inserts already. I hopped on Amazon and searched and found these. I have ordered more already. I have had them for a month and at .6" they are thickest and most comfortable cushioned support I could have asked for. I can't say thank you enough. These are a blessing. I'm a big guy at 250lbs and 6' 3" and these handle the load great. I walk alot for work, close to 10 miles or more a week on concrete floors and these have saved me from having to stop working to try and heel.

I have Insertional Achilles Tendonopathy with a big bone spur at rear of heel at base of Achilles. These inserts are the best thing I've found for reducing the pain during walking. Basically raises heel slightly to take pressure off Achilles while also maintaining my arch to avoid firing up Plantar Fasciitis. They work but are a bit pricey. But for me, well worth it. I just ordered 3 more pairs for my other shoes. Adhesive doesn't last long (dog hair collects in my shoes from my two Labradors!) but I just hot glue them down, which is adequate to keep them in place. I find the hot glue peels off to allow them to be removed if necessary.

I bought these a couple weeks ago and waited to do this review till I wore them for a while. Overall, they do help with absorbing the shock to the heal while walking and does relieve leg pain (for me at least) if you are on your feet for hours. However, if you have tendinitis or hardening of the Achilles, it doesn’t help relieve anything associated with that problem.

I ordered these due to my planter fasciitis. They made my feet very uncomfortable. I thought after a week I would accustom to them, but never did. With the price being so high I thought these would be worth it, but it was just a rip-off and waste of money. I’m not one to give such a bad rating, but this product is pointless and I want to give those a fair warning before buying.

Each one fits left or right shoes. I require a 1/2" lift in the left shoe. They work well but are very heavy. One will really feel a difference in weight, which makes them uncomfortable to wear. This is surprising given the many lightweight materials available today. As a result could only give 3 stars.

Very happy with the quality and performance of these orthotic insole. I experience chronic pain especially when standing for long periods. Recently went on a hiking and camping trip to Joshua Tree National Park (see photo), where we hiked ALL weekend among the giant boulders and rocky terrain. I was afraid I might not last very long, but with the help of Heel Defender inserts I was able to hike and keep up with the kids. This was the ultimate test, hours and hours hiking on the rocks. I put them in an old pair of hiking boots, and they gave a spring to my step. (note that they will give you a slight "lift" of about half an inch.) Besides hiking books, I've also used them on other everyday shoes and they work just as well. Based on my overall experience I can give it 5 stars, especially if you are looking to relieve your heel pain or stand all day. I read that these are doctor recommended, and I believe it. Worth the price in my opinion.

I bought this for my bf because he has heel pain. He insert into his shoe and wore it to work all day. He wears a size 12. He said the insoles were okay on the first day but on the second day it started bothering him. His toes felt bothered and crowded and felt discomfort. He stopped wearing them.

I've had achilles tendonitis/back of the heel pain. I have an active lifestyle. I bowl, play softball and exercise throughout the week. The next day after running I'm usually limping or wearing clogs to elevate my heel. Not anymore. I wont wear a shoe without these inserts! They are great! I run, jump and I'm still able to walk the next day. They come in two sizes. Most of my shoes I use the blue package. I wear the red pacing my dress shoes. I won't wear a shoe without them. They have helped me maintain my active lifestyle.
