  • Very well built.
The media could not be loaded. Very well built. Assembly was pretty straight forward and went well. First burn went very well. I look forward to more fires with this unit.

  • Good starter stove.
Solid stove for a starter. Holds standard wood. It is difficult to put together, there are no instructions and a bracket i dont know where belongs. the holes aren't pre threaded so have some good tools on hand. We burned a few good fires in it before we took it camping to burn off the paint. There are still patches of paint and more burned off with the continues use but didn't affect us in the tent. the 'seal' came off instantly but is it still keeps the smoke in but it does let air in so if you are trying to get good coals you have to close the pipe. There is a little crack in one of the top welds started as a dot but grew with use. It is small enough not to affect the function so I'm not dealing with return. All in all fair quality for the price we should be able to use it for a while. ... show more

  • So close yet so far.. to the hardware store... 6 times
This could have been the perfect stove. I did my due diligence and read all of the bad reviews because the deeper I get off grid the more I learn most of the time the one stars are user error or something that could be solved with one trip to the hardware store. This stove took me to the hardware store 6 times I planed a hot burn outside to remove factory paint that had been reviewed to burn off immediately and didn't want my stuff smelling I bought new door gasket (fiberglass flat braid worked great for me) I bought fire brick (personal preference I got 8 as I planned to ruin a few because if you look at them wrong they break whichever way they want I cut some down to fit tight on three walls and the bottom) I also got a grate to hold the bio bricks I plan on using up to get a thoroughburn The things you would HAVE to buy to make the stove I was sent safely useable: Bolts with nuts to attach the flange to the box because the holes drilled in the flange were threaded for the provided threaded bolts (no nuts to be found in package) and the holes in the fire box were just plain holes but larger which cause the chimney stack to be floppy and unstable as you cannot attach the two. A metal drill bit to drill out the threaded holes that were pit in the place the damper was to be installed. All is fine and dandy except the damper rod is wider than these holes.... Almost as wide as the threadless holes drilled in the firebox. Coincidence? The stove pipe isn't hardware store standard size for the US, not a complaint I anticipated that it's just a heads up I think it's 100mm but I'm too cold to cliuble check right now. I think rather than fix the damper etc issues I'm going to convert it with some unadvisable tinkering to 4" stove pipe so replacing the chimney parts are easier down the road. I would not put this in a tent or plan on using it anywhere without a dry run in your backyard. It really is eventually going to be the perfect stove but it's going to cost me about $100 to get there. Also no instructions, but it's pretty straightforward once you figure out the manufacturing errors. Do not buy if you don't have a good hardware store or a handy predisposition this was not ready to use right out of the box. ... show more

  • The unit was missing the stove pipe flange these can't be purchased
I was excited to use this stove. When I opened the box it was missing the stove pipe flange. I rigged something out of some tin cans put the pipe keeps falling over it works well enough but the paint did come off immediately. Only buy this if you don't mind trouble shooting and having a rusty steel box for a stove ... show more

  • Quality
The media could not be loaded. Wow, nice finish and parts attach smoothly. Does have a dapper and seemingly will function well. Good heavy gauge metal too, use on a roller folder to form fire-box, not stamped cut and welded. Should hold up well for me as future flows and smoke blows, iThink.
