This thing worked out great for fitting a double din head unit in my truck came from the factory with a 1.5 din, the one piece of advice that I can give though is don't use the clips provided (way too weak) use the original ones from GM, just pop them off your original – piece

I didn't think I was going to be able to upgrade the radio in my 2001 Silverado because of the dash bezel/trim piece and then I found this. There were a couple of other options but I went with this one because the price was better. Very pleased with it. I did break one of the metal clips installing it but I was able to use one of the clips from the original factory piece. Very clean install. See pictures.

Installed this into my 2002 Chevy Avalanche!! Fit almost perfectly, had to play a little with the stereo brackets/dash kit to get the right fit BUT it made my truck look like an OEM look with a double din. Clips were a fear of mine but was ready to use my original ones BUT they did the job, keeps the dash in place although it may be annoying when taking the dash off since they do not come off with the dash and gets stuck on the trucks dash. No issues getting pliers and removing them.

Now the little pins or whatever they’re called that it comes with our cheap so reuse the factory ones all it takes is a pair of needle nose, pliers to pull them off the old one

The media could not be loaded. The clips it comes with are garbage, I reused the factory ones (they are a pain to remove from the bezel) it didn't fit quite right, I had to file away some of the plastic to fit the head unit i put in, but i think that's because I couldn't recess the head unit more, it didn't have any room to go back further, and it covers the vent close dial on the center vent.

Chevy in their ultimate wisdom decide their truck line back in 1999 should have a Din and a half opening for the radio. While they corrected this in 2003, I have a 2002 Silverado. This solves this issue and allows a double din radio unit installation. The only down side is it is only available in black and I understand it cannot be painted. It does come with new clips and the brackets to mount the replacement radio. If you break a clip, remember they are the same clips on your old trim unit, so no worries. I now have a double din display unit with navigation, Bluetooth, and hands free calling. Such a nice modernization to a truck that has passed the legal drinking age. I would recommend this trim kit for double din installations.

This arrived wrapped in bubble wrap inside a box. I wasn’t ready to install my new stereo yet, so this part sat on the shelf for about 4 months (over winter). When I did get a chance to swap out my stereo, I grabbed the new, still in the original packaging, dash cutout replacement. I was very disappointed to see that the coating/matte paint was peeling off! When I notified the company and explained that I just took it out of their packaging, they said there was nothing they could do except offer me $10 off another one!?!? Why would I buy another piece of crud? Keep looking, there are other ones out there sold by companies that will stand behind their products!
