  • Nice
Seems heavy and well made, especially for the price.

  • It is as advertised. I down graded due to smell.
I got this for a covering for plants from frost. It rather smells nasty when we first opened it up. Frost season is past for this year, so we will be using it next spring.

  • The finest tarp at the best price
One of these Chicago tarps, in this size, is on its way to my house even now, to join the three others I've purchased from Amazon. I have to say, it was a HUGE RELIEF to find this much quality in materials and workmanship, available to the average Joe and Jane at such an affordable price. Just as every human being I know is advised to carry a flashlight of some kind at all times, I make an issue over their plastic garbage-tarps and box-store dropcloths for painting. Wasted money. But a good tarp WORKS PERFECTLY, and is WELL-MADE by expert tailors. THANK YOU, CHICAGO! This amateur Taylor tried, and failed, before he went to Amazon and typed in "canvas tarps." Presto. THIS TARP IS AN INVESTMENT, but at a bargain price. It looks like it will outlast my grandfather's, which he made in 1929. I snatched the last gold Chicago tarp I could find, and they're not available now. So that's why I'm shouting. It's a way good deal, and my first one confirmed it for me. And free shipping, too?! These Rambo-comforters are what I'm giving a few good friends for the holidays, in this fearful year of 2013. Stay dry, everyone. ... show more

  • Perfect cover for large heavy outdoor table!
Wanted a strong tarp for our outdoor dining table and this was the perfect solution. This isn't cheap but it is well worth the investment in my opinion. Well made out of cotton canvas duck which is treated with some kind of water repellent. Sturdy, grommets are strong and it looks great! Didn't want an ugly plastic tarp for several reasons. 1) They always deteriorate which causes them to be thrown away. Not good for the environment. 2) Our table is very heavy metal with ceramic tile top. Impossible to bring indoors. We didn't want to look at an ugly cover all winter long. The olive (Army green) is much nicer on the eyes than an ordinary plastic tarp. This tarp is the perfect solution for our needs! I'm optimistic it will last a reasonable number of years to come. ... show more

  • Color and oily
So canvas was wonderful and served it purpose. BUT it is oily to the touch and the color came off on our camping items. We used it from the package.

  • It’s what I expected of a canvas tarp
I wanted a canvas tarp to replace the one I got from my dad years ago and was ragged and torn. This new tarp is what I expected seems to be made well, heavy, durable, and I’m sure it’s waterproof as well. Yes it does have an odor but I’m using it to cover my trailer when transporting things, so the odor doesn’t matter to me. ... show more

  • maybe i got a dud?
the first photo is the “good canvas” i think. this one was fine in the rain the next two photos are the “dud”, canvas showed up just in time for some what ended up being a very light rain storm. 1/10” of rain so very light. water ran off in certain areas and pooled through the canvas in others. i ordered two, one canvas showed up in solid color the other which was supposed to be the same ended up looking like tie dye like maybe some of the wax in it separated. that was the one that leaked straight through. still wet at the moment a day later soaked through. i’m guessing this was a dud will return once it dries and hope the next one works. ... show more
