My tiny house (400sq ft) has 2 rooms: kitchen/eating area and living/bedroom. I wanted to visually separate my queen bed from the living area and had existing silk drapes that I wanted to reuse. I looked at the Ikea track thing but wasn’t sure those sizes would work and honestly found it all confusing. This track looked like it would fit the bill, plus free shipping, etc. I unrolled it, heated it with a hairdryer as other reviewers suggested, and left it weighted down for a coupla days before attempting to install. I had to cut a piece off for my needs then used anchors to install. Installation was pretty straightforward. Everything needed for install (except tools) was included. Though I keep the curtains closed most of the time, they glide easily when I need to open/close. Also, these drapes are pretty heavy so they weigh the hooks down a bit which exposes the track. If you have lighter drapes, you may be able to hang the hooks so that your track is totally covered. That said, my ceiling is also white so the track kinda blends in. I don’t mind it showing. I’m super happy with this product as it totally worked as my room divider. Would recommend for this particular use or anytime you need a ceiling-mounted curtain track.

After reading the reviews, I flattened the rail on the floor after soaking it in hot water. I left it weighted down for two days and I mounted it with long drywall screws into the ceiling joists. Works good with the heavy curtains I mounted for a sound studio.

This is a great product however if you’re a woman this is tough to straighten out AND KEEP straight while installing on your ceiling. Once the clips are in place the mount actually bends when you snap it on track, like the circle shape of the lining is still there so all clamps twist while mounted to the wall, it’s annoying because when I look up it’s not a straight line. Overall it does the trick and hold me very long curtains

My husband stays in his travel trailer when he's at work and he needed to put a curtain up by the pull out bed so if one of the other guys stays with him, there is privacy. He said putting up the track was so easy and literally took less than 15 minutes to get it into place.

Pros: the glide is super smooth and quiet, I really liked how well the gliders worked! Cons: it was really difficult to install this in our ceiling. We struggled to keep the track straight as we went across the ceiling and failed lol our line was more of a squiggle. The first anchor was the hardest, it kept coming out as we went across and we eventually had to have someone hold it down so that we could continue. If I had to do it again I would have gotten more people to help hold the track in place and I would have clipped the anchors onto the track first and slid them across the track into place as we went across the celing (the instructions have you install the anchors first and then clip the track onto it but we found that caused them to pop up at the ends).

Not exactly 'easy' to install, but it was kind of a fun project. The track comes tightly wrapped up so you have to bend it slowly into whatever shape you need it to be. Use something heavy to hold it in place until it's the shape you want. You'll want a stud finder and step ladder. Mark your studs and attach the brackets, then the track snaps into the brackets. Badda bing badda boom, curtains. It's a good product. Seems sturdy. Gliders run smoothly. (I did leave a couple of the gliders off that seemed like they didn't want to glide as smoothly as the others though. It comes with plenty of them and nice strong hooks to attach your curtains.)

have a weird 5 pane bay window in the kitchen nook which offers a great view of the pond at the end of the yard. the late afternoon sun is a killer and shines directly on the thermostat. did not want to hang blinds or curtains and give up the killer vew. used one of these tracks on the outside of the window with a set of sunblocking, thermal insulated curtains and problem solved. no dust catching blinds or curtains inside taking up part of the great view. the outside curtains open to the sides and a good breeze now and then keep them dusted off! This window is under a deep patio, so not getting alot of rain.
