Living along the Gulf Coast, saltwater fishing is a way of life. Most nets, made of fabric, don’t last many seasons in saltwater. This net features a strong, fine mesh, small enough to secure catches without losing anything. It’s a large 20-inch net, 24 inches deep, preventing the heartbreak of losing fish in shallow or small nets. The width and depth are perfect. We tested it in shallow water near our home, and it has great reach from the banks. I’ve already placed it in our boat for the weekend. The pole’s length and sturdiness are impressive, extending up to 100 inches. It’s rated to handle a 35-pound fish. It assembles in about 5 minutes. It easily adjusts if you want it shorter than the 100 inches. We are using it at full length. The aluminum is light weight, while the net is really secure.

The previous net I purchased had a head that was too small for the type of fish I catch. This net has a nice metal handle that is sturdy with little flex in it. The net is large and deep for speckled trout and redfish. The nylon is very durable and tough. The net came in two pieces that were easy to assemble. This net is perfect for jetty fishing off the shore. The price is a bit high for a net this size. This net fits into the rod holder on my cart for easy transporting.

I haven't had the chance to get out on the water with this net yet, but so far I am impressed! The handle and hoop are both very sturdy. As described, the telescoping feature allows you to go from about 5 1/2 to just over 8 feet. It's definitely a boat net, and not something you'd want on a kayak. Although it only weights 2 pounds, it feels heavier given the length of the handle. The net itself is plastic. The mesh is pretty fine, with about 1/4 inch holes (give or take). It feels strong enough that it should hold a pretty sizeable fish without too much difficulty, and the net is pretty deep at 24 inches. I'm looking forward to trying it out offshore soon. Should I have concerns with the quality once I use it, I'll update the review. At this point though, I like it more than my old net which was about 50% more expensive.

This two-piece fishing net is very nicely made. It is sturdy and the telescoping handle worked well in action. The net itself is rubber, avoiding all the problems with older technology like hooks getting stuck and tangling. The really big deal was that the net basket stayed open in the water while netting fish. The Lake Michigan King Salmon a.k.a. Chinook Salmon in the picture is proof. The net is really nice and worked as expected.
