While the blanket itself seemed to work, the packaging looked like it had gone through WWW III. I felt embarassed because it was a gift. I offered to return it but my friend was gracious. Do not think I would do this again.

I never had an electric blanket before. This one is very soft to sleep with. So far, I don’t need another blanket over the top of it — the electric keeps me plenty warm. I did lose the directions or never got them, so I had to just try to figure it out. I will say that by myself, I was a little confused. At first, it looked to me like the numbers were upside down at times. With some help, I learned what I thought were upside down fours were actually h's, meaning hours I wanted to set it. I definitely needed my glasses to see the icons on the remote. So, after some exploration, I learned you can set it from level 1 to 11, and it can be set up to 12 hours. Regardless I was able to turn it on and see how it heats, and it does a good job. It has cords that run from head to toe through the middle. They are spread out up to the last about twelve inches of the blanket on both sides, so there isn't heat on the edges, but that is fine. The color is called beige, but I think it's more of a creamy color. Like coffee creamer. When I think of beige, I think more of tan. It's white on the other side, and like a nice fleece. It's a nice and soft texture. So, whether the heat is on or not, it's a nice, comfortable cover.
