4 starts for one reason. The heater is difficult to light. If it's windy it's a bit of a fight. Once lit I struggled moving from the low to high setting without the flame going out. I did eventually get it lit. Once lit the heat output is great. Fuel consumption is better than I expected.

I have a 10x14 shed on some recreational property where I use this heater. Previously I had one of those combination heaters that doubles as a cooker. I found that design to be incredibly inefficient and not worth the added convenience of being able to cook with it. That style of heater doesn't burn efficiently and expels too much heat out the top. I did some research and thought I would try the heat hog and I'm glad I did. Currently the outside temperature is 25° and the heat hog keeps inside at 65. Using it on full power a10lb propane tank lasts me all weekend. I like the fact that this can run off the small propane tanks but I just run a line to my tank outside. The unit itself seems pretty sturdy and it does do a good job of distributing the heat evenly throughout the space. ... show more

The heater works great. A little difficult to screw in the 1 gal. Propane tank. If you have problems lighting it, make sure the tank is screwed in all the way.

Find tho a nice heater so far. I had no trouble lighting it, but out on the deck, a very light breeze blew the pilot out. Fortunately relighting is a snap, I wish the access panel for the propane hookup wasn't so flimsy, I had to keep pushing it out of the way to easily mount the cylinder. Out in the weather, you'll feel little heat from the low setting, It is better on high for sure. If you are trying to heat an area the size of or a deck set of chairs or a table, buy a "patio heater" This is a one-person sitting alone kind of heater! ... show more
