I bought this for my semi truck so I would have a supply of ice when parked. I was surprised how quickly it made ice which is a big bonus since it will only be on when I park for the night. Sometimes the ice accumulates near the drop section and makes the unit stop thinking the basket is full. As the ice melts the basket ice will drop lower causing it to start producing ice again. Edited* I have now actually started using the icemaker while driving and it handles a Semi bounce movement fine and keeps spitting out ice cubes.
