These chairs are beautiful, but they didn’t come with clear instructions and almost had the the black piece stuck in the chair which would have kept me from being able to use the hydraulics. Luckily I was able to figure out. The other downside is mine did come with a few scratches on it which was disappointing considering how expensive these chairs were.     • REMOVE the black cap from the cylinder before inserting the chair into it.

The directions were terrible. Just pictures, no explanations. You need to remove the black cap that is on the cylinder or the hydraulic part of it will not work.
