I purchased this as a suggestion from a video that explained how this can improve your ability to see where you are going while welding. It arrived this morning and I was very anxious to test it. The battery has come charge and comes with a USB adapter for recharging. It has been on charge for over 30 minutes and the red indicator is still on so I do not know how long a full charge takes until after depleting the battery. I see no need for a motion detector but it works well. Both the front COB strip and the beam have 2 levels of brightness and my only complaint so far is that both cannot be turned on at the same time for increased light. The Beam light can be focused by adjusting the headband on your head. Since I will be using this on a helmet, I think it will work similarly. I just hope it will last for at least an hour and in that time I will try out the motion sensor to determine if it is useful for my application. I am very impressed with how bright it is and it should enable me to follow the seam that needs welding much easier. An auxiliary light carried under the vehicle is not always able to shine where needed and this shines where your are looking. I may try to use Velcor or just Gorilla Glue to attach it to my helmet and not have to mess with it moving or coming loose. I gave it a 4 because I have not fully tested it. So I've tried a few brands like surefire and this is byfsr my favorite its light and comfortable to it dosnt move around alot and you barely notice its there. It also dosnt get hot like alot of other ones seem too. Best of all it has a wode field of view pretty much fills your entire field of view. Only thing i could say negative is the silicone band while comfortable does make you sweat a bit where it touches. But still if your using it your probably sweating already. Besides oncw again other bigger brand ssewm to get hot so its not that bad. Also i thought when I first wore it that it was getting dimmer as I looked up bit it was my noses shadow so dont be silly like me and think that. I bought these specifically to see at night to finish painting the outside of my house before cold weather gets here. I mostly painted after the sun went down because the south side of my house spent most of the day in hot full sun. Can't paint in that condition. I only used the led band light on high. It felt like I was in an evenly lit room no matter how fast I tuned my head. Using a flashlight or portable light creates shadows where I'm working. This does not. I did not use the motion detection feature. Didn't really think that was a useful feature for me. Battery life lasted at least 2 hours. Didn't wear it longer than that. ... show more

This device is exactly what everyone needs! Surprised nobody came out with this before! Love how it is bright and has many different functions but the best function by far is the wave function. As a backyard mechanic getting grease all over your hands and touching your head and light isn't ideal. This helps with that, just set your light with the wave function and turn on and off your light by waving your hand by the sensor and like magic, BAM, your light turns off and on without touching your light or slipping and touching your head and getting smudges and grease and oil everywhere. This headlamp is a good buy. I use it for Lighting up the area while Working on my car and other projects around the home. The headband is comfortable to wear, Easy to adjust, and the controls are easy to reach. It Arrived charged so I set it to high beam and let it sit. The high beams stayed on for 3 hours, then switched to low beam automatically and ran for another 30 minutes before turning itself off. This is sooo bright! My husband uses this while working on cars in the dark. Cooking on the grill in the dark while camping... this has so many uses. The battery lasts a unforgivable amount if time., but it still Rechargeable!

(FYI-you may need to glue back he LED strip at first sign of tear from wear...the adhesive used to connect it to the rubber of the head band is kinda weak) Seem to have less than 30 min in full LED strip bright but can give at least an hour on the dimmer settings...have a great 180 illumination tho with about 20-30 ft forward in full bright and about 180 field with 10-20 ft forward in dimmer settings....tested it in full dark during a camping trip. The wireless sensor woked great too but can be a little sensitive to motion. I can say that this is not for a prolonged usage and wear given that it still kinda flimsy and probably not as water proofed...more like mildly resistant to spalsh and spray. Charging seems to be typical to 2-3 hours to full...haven't tested with fast charging coz it came with c-type cord and never tested in fullrect socket -in. ... show more
