I ordered the upgrade of this futon and it was supposed to have thicker cushions. The cushions were the same as the lower priced version, 2”. This was a gift to a friend. I was extremely upset because it felt like sitting on bricks!! I would have sent it back but the box was too torn up and the futon weighed more than it was advertised to weigh. (Maybe it was made of bricks!) My husband and son had difficulty picking it up together. Sometimes I think the stuff from China is all JUNK!! This is a higher quality and beautiful it is standing up to our puppy quite well. We are very happy that we purchased thus. Because of the shelf on the back it needs to be placed against a wall. It is not uncomfortable and easy to wipe down.

Shipping came two days early! We have been looking for a place for the dogs to sit, and this could not be more perfect. The material is soft and seems durable. The color is perfect. Easy to assemble. Is a few inches away from the wall when the back is sitting up. Took a picture from the side so you could see if that would bothers you. It is definitely firm and lower to the ground. For the price this is the best dog bed!!! It’s still pretty new, so I’m hoping the dogs end up loving it because they don’t like being on the floor. I was pleased with the futon for the 1st year. The back of each section has a hinge that supposedly works by itself so it lays flat to sleep or sits up in a couch position. The hinge on the right broke somehow. Now it stays up or stays laying down flat. I'm 73 yr old & not hard on furniture and no heavy people have even sat on it, no teenage boys, or children. This hinge isn't something you can get at your local hardware. So I have a little over one years use from this purchase. If you purchase it, be sure you plan to leave it either up or down. My dogs are huge, with big claws and lots of drool. As they age, finding the right bed is huge. This is my 2nd futon couch. My last one lasted 5 years of big dog abuse. Easy to clean. Easy to repair.
