    • Super slim but not super sturdy

The best thing about this step ladder is how slim it is when folded up. It easily tucks behind a door or any other small space you may want to stash it. I don't tend to need a step ladder very often (mostly just changing the occassional light buld and cleaning ceiling fans), so mine spends a lot of time put away. I love that it takes up less space than my old one. The down side of this ladder is that it just doesn't feel very sturdy. I'm not sure I completely believe the listed weight limit- if you're anywhere close to the limit, you might prefer a different step ladder. Likewise if you will be constantly uising the ladder. However, if you're like me and only need it occassionally, and want to save space on storage, this might be a good step ladder for you. ... show more

    • More than a stepping stool

I have had this stool / ladder for several weeks now an I love it. I initially used it in my home garage to reach overhead cabinets and decided to take it to our work shop where we build custom crates to aid in reaching higher shelves. I am happy that I decided to use it in our shop as it works very well as a combination of a foot stool and a short ladder. It is compact enough that I do not need to constantly fold it up and I can easily move it with one hand or push it into position with my foot. I am constantly standing on the top platform / step without any feelings of being unstable or unsafe. It does not slide or move out from under me. One must always be careful on ladders, but this on has been solid and has performed very well in our abusive work place. For our uses, this has been a great stool / ladder due to its size and versatility. I am happy with it and expect to be able to use and abuse it for a long time.     • Sturdy, slim, and good spacing between steps

I’m super pleased with this step stool. It seems very sturdy. Eight pounds is actually heavier than you might think, so the fact that it’s described as “lightweight” shouldn’t be interpreted to mean that it’s not sturdy metal. It feels very solid. What I particularly like about this step stool is the spacing of the three steps. The steps on my old step stool were so far apart I had to be careful stepping down or I sometimes missed the bottom step entirely because of the long drop between steps. These are normal stair-step spacing. I worried about the absence of a bar across the top to hang onto as I stepped up, since I don’t always feel like I have secure balance anymore. I discovered, however, that using the two sides posts for balance works just as well as grabbing the center bar on my old step stool. The highest step is 27” from the floor. That’s plenty of height for even a shrimpy 5’2” person like myself to comfortably reach the ceiling. The ad says the stairs are wide; they’re 8” deep. The anti-slip ridges are part of the metal step, not a rubber coating, so not super anti-slip but sufficient. Personally, I think it’s great: sturdy, aesthetically pleasing, remarkably slim, a perfect height, and safe-feeling. ... show more

    • More than a step stool, less than a ladder. Just right?

There are times when you need to get to something that requires that extra 2-3 feet but really isn't a good spot to bring in a ladder. This step stool may fit the bill. We have a 2-step stool/ladder that I use a lot. There are times when another 6" or so would be nice, and this gives you that little extra height. This opens and closes easily, not too heavy and easy to more around, the four legs have rubber feet that seem to hold without slipping, and gives you about 30" of extra height when needed. I tried on my under 8' basement ceiling and found that the 2nd step worked well, the third step would have put my head on the ceiling. For a full 8' ceiling the 3rd step would work well. I recently put some lights into the suspended ceiling and it required a small ladder because of I couldn't reach enough with the 2-step stool, this may have worked for that job. The unit has all the usual warnings and does show a weight limit (330 lbs) so I'm hoping it has been tested and will last a while. The steps are quite deep on each of the steps so that is a good thing to save your feet from "ladder pain" by having half of your feet holding your weight. The only negative I have sound so far is that the steps are only metal with no rubber inserts of any kind. The steps are textured and have "waves" to add traction, but wet feet might still slip on them if you weren't careful. This is why it's 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more

The step ladder is lightweight but small in size. Would only be good for use by a petite woman or it is unsafe otherwise. The steps are plastic and because the bottom insert is plastic as well, depending on how well it was placed during manufacturing, the step ladder may be uneven. There is no cross hold-bar at the top, so it is not recommended to step a the top level without something else to lean against or to hold onto. Minor point: the side beams were oily. I understand the need for lubrication, but it would be nice to not have oil on myself each time I use the ladder. I will be buying a different sturdier ladder. This one will be a fine secondary one to have around if I need another step ladder for a project. But I don't plan on using this as my primary household step ladder. ... show more

    • A great little ladder!

This is a really nice and convenient ladder to have. It has 3 steps and is made of steel for optimal support. Each step is wide and has a textured pattern for a better grip. When I’m not using it, it folds down and becomes extremely compact making it easy to store in small spaces. I can use it for changing light bulbs, cleaning, and reaching high places. I can get high, and I feel safe and secure on it. It has a modern look to it, is lightweight, and I can quickly and easily fold it up and put it away. Overall, this is a sturdy ladder that doesn’t feel cheap and has made simple tasks much easier. This ladder was exactly what I was looking for. ... show more
