This step ladder resembles the brand name one I bought at a warehouse club. The metal is steel and thick-walled, which makes it strong and sturdy, and likely adds some of the weight other reviews mention. I don't think the weight is much more than my other one, feels the same. The rubber feet seem more like plastic, however, they don't slip, even when I tried with nobody on it. The description says it has rubber-like grip on the steps, they aren't made with rubber, or at least don't feel that way. If wearing sneakers, it feels "sticky" and safe. It won't work with slippery soles, e g., when working with fiberglass and your feet get like glass. The foam grip on the top is a great touch and makes it easier to carry. After having fallen from a stepstool decades ago, I'm super picky about what I climb and this step ladder seems safe enough to use.

I'm a bigger guy (250lbs) and I wanted something that felt sturdy when I climb up on it. This step stool does that well. I can stand on the top step, and I feel very comfortable, it is not wobbly. It locks open very well, so no fear of it accidentally folding up. It's not too heavy, but it is heavier than the aluminum light weight ladders I've tried, this one is 12lbs For normal "around the house" stuff, I would highly recommend this step stool.

I'm so impressed with this ladder and definitely recommend it. The quality is excellent. It's heavy duty enough for people who weigh more than 200 lbs. to feel very safe. I especially like that the supports on the back legs are welded construction, not just bolted together. The ladder does weigh more than one of lesser quality, but that's what I would expect of a product that's high grade.

I got this stepladder since I’m getting too old to step up on a chair. This stepladder is very sturdy and made very well. It’s not to heavy to carry wherever it’s needed and it holds at least 300 lbs. now I can do a lot more high dusting and cleaning.

I have been using some ultra-light ladders, so this seems heavy to me, but it is very nice. It feels strong and does not wobble at all. It feels very secure and stable. I used it several times today and never pinched my fingers, which is fabulous. I definitely recommend this ladder.

I knew we needed a step stool when I had stepped up on the toilet to get something off the top shelf in the cabinet above. Stepping up wasn’t the problem but when I stepped the eighteen inches down to the floor, I twisted my knee. Getting old isn’t pretty. Consequently, I have admitted that a step stool might be a better way to go to reach the high spots in cabinets, and to change light bulbs. I love this little stool. It is high enough to do all those little jobs. I’m able to fully utilize the upper cabinets in the kitchen and the pantry. It feels very stable and secure when I am on it. When I fold the stool up it fits perfectly between the refrigerator and the wall.
