  • Casters aren't castering
Color: White Style: Contemporary
I like the chair. The instruction booklet is small and uses a black-colored chair so you can't see what screws are used. Sure they have the screws labeled, well, almost, only three types of screws have labels the rest, good luck. If the pictures were cleared you could see which ones go where. Anyway, I got the chair together but I wasn't sure I used the right screws for the back metal plate. However, I'm using it so it works. My biggest peeve are the casters. My last chair I could move around with just my toes. For this one, I practically have to get up to move back. They just don't roll. I wish they had some other kind or replace them! ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and very comfortable
Color: Black Style: Contemporary
Overall, I really like this chair. It was pretty easy to assemble. It took me longer than it should have (about an hour) because I went very slowly and carefully. I have a habit of getting halfway through an assembly, realizing something is backwards (or something) and having to back-track if not start all over. I didn't want to do that this time so I really took time to check and double check. Plus, I had two cats "helping" me. The instructions were easy to understand but the pictures weren't really very helpful. If you've ever put an office chair together you could probably do this intuitively. Once it was put together I sat down and was pleased to discover it was even more comfortable than I had expected it to be. The seat is nice and thick and supportive. The padded armrests are just firm enough and not too squishy. The adjustable head rest feels very comfortable and the pillow feels great as neck support. For me, it is just high enough on the highest setting so whether the height works for you will depend on the height of your desk. I strongly recommend you compare the dimensions of this chair with your needs because it will definitely depend on the height of your desk. The mechanisms for raising and lowering the seat and for reclining are very smooth and the reclining function can be set at precisely the angle that is wanted. Really the only complaint I have is the foot rest. The foot rest is a big part of why I got this chair and I've been searching chairs with this feature for a long time trying to find one I thought was strong and reliable; however, this foot rest seems to be extremely flimsy. I reclined all the way back with the foot rest out and my feet resting on it, and I kept hearing a "creaking" sound as if it was going to break off. I don't think I'll ever use the foot rest, which is a big disappointment. That being said, I'm not sure it's as desirable a feature as I thought it would be. Reclined all the way with my feet on the floor feels perfectly comfortable and I no longer think the foot rest is a "must have". Still, I paid for it and should be able to use it with confidence. That gets a big down-check as far as I'm concerned. Again, overall I really like the chair. It remains to be seen whether it will hold up over time but I suspect it will be fine as long as I take good care of it. ... show more

  • Good value chair
Color: White Style: Contemporary
I wanted a comfortable chair for sitting at my home desk. I wasn't looking to spend a ton of money, but I knew I needed something better than the cheapest option. Overall, this chair is decent for the price. It's no Secret Lab chair, but it exceeds my needs. Size/strength: I'm 5'6" 230lbs. This chair fits me well, although I better not let my hips get too much wider. The base and back of the chair are very sturdy and supportive. The arms do not tighten as much as I would like, so they wobble a bit which makes me nervous. This may be due to the design feature that allows them to move with the backrest as you lean back. I'll definitely be careful to not lean on them when getting up and down. It also should be noted that, while the back reclines, the seat itself does not have a rocking function. Foot rest: I was surprised to find that it actually slides out instead of having a recliner type lift. I wasn't really looking for a reclining chair, but I thought it was a nice feature. Unfortunately, I feel like the foot rest is very flimsy. It leans down under the weight of my legs. It's also awkward to slide out and get it in position. I definitely think this feature needs a better design. Concerns re tipping over: Some reviews talked about the chair tipping easily. At my size, I tried multiple times to make it happen just to see, but it was very difficult. If you're concerned, just make sure that you recline with a foot of the base behind you. Regardless, you'd probably have to be heavier/taller than me and making some very jerky movements for it to tip. Headrest: Some reviews complained that it was uncomfortable. Mine came with a removable pillow and I find the headrest to be comfortable in multiple positions. Assembly: The instructions were very small. They included some helpful pictures, however you may need a magnifying glass to see details LOL! I have quite a bit of experience with assembling various pieces of furniture and I did not find this chair particularly difficult. I did it in about 30 minutes while watching a movie. Also, I didn't need any tools because it came with a hex wrench/screwdriver. Some extra pieces were included which is nice for if I eventually lose a screw or a screw cap. ... show more

  • squeeky and shaky
Color: Black Style: Contemporary
If you have someone who sleeps below you, you may not want to buy this chair. Overally, it is a nice chair but it squeeks a lot when I lower the backrest. And it also shaky when I sit back with force. So if I were you, I would budget more for a better chair.
