I decided to wait a while before writing a review to see if any problems arose during use of the product. They have not, and I have now ridden it almost 300 miles. (Yes, it has a digital odometer, although it resets to zero after each 100 miles.) This bike was not as easy to assemble as I was led to believe - it took my wife and me about 5 hours to put it together and when it was over we had one leftover part which was not specifically called out in the instructions. I contacted customer service and sent a picture of the part and they actually sent me a video of where that part should have been installed and how to put it in. (This led me to believe that I was not the only person who had experienced this problem.) The video was narrated in Chinese but the narration was really unnecessary as the visual was quite clear and the bike is now whole! What is most remarkable about this product is how quietly and smoothly it operates. The engineering is simply outstanding. My wife commented early on that she couldn't tell I was actually on the bike unless she came into the bedroom where we have it and saw me sitting on it and pedaling. The seat is comfortable and the entire rig is very sturdy. (I weigh 240 pounds.) The digital display offers, in addition to the odometer, readouts for speed, distance, time, calories, and heart rate (which is read by sensors in the handles on either side of the seat.) To be honest, there is no way that the calorie calculation could be correct since it seems to be based entirely on distance pedaled and does not take into consideration factors such as my age and weight, which are not input at any point. The bike is not programmable (offering different workout regimens, setting goals, etc.) as the display tells you only what you are doing or have done, but bikes that are programmable cost hundreds of dollars more and that wasn't worth it for me. The only negative comment I can make is that there is an iPad holder (which also can hold a beverage or water bottle) affixed to the top of the handlebars, but it is of no use if you actually need to touch your iPad (for example to scroll pages in a digital book or newspaper) because it is too far from the seat to reach comfortably. This is not a big deal, because I can hold my iPad in my hands, but I do need to set it somewhere to get a pulse reading. Of course if all you want to do with your iPad is stream a movie or TV show, that would be fine. In any case, it seems odd that it would be designed this way where a normal sized person can't easily reach the iPad holder without leaning forward awkwardly. I have attached a picture to show the position of the iPad holder. On the whole I am very pleased with this product and happy that I selected it from the many offerings on Amazon of exercise bikes. For the price, it is a sound product, well engineered and manufactured, and the customer service was satisfactory apart from the Chinese narration on the video they sent me. I feel this bike is a well made good quality item worth every penny spent on it. You get what you pay for. If you decide to buy a cheap bike you get garbage that does not last long. This bike is made of heavy duty quality materials. I am an old lady but I put it together myself. It did take me a while but I wanted to pay close attention to all the instructions and not make any mistakes. This item comes extremely well packaged and padded so your bike won’t get damaged in shipping. The seat is comfortable. It is so easy and nice for an older person to get on and off because you just step straight through the middle without having any problems lifting your legs over a higher bike. It is easy to adjust the seat also. I recommend this bike to everyone. ... show more

    • Needs a better angle for the seat

I like the feel and the sound. It will be easy to watch TV and exercise. It was a little complex to assemble and I had several screws and bolts which almost cross-threaded. I was confused when assembling due to having more than one cord to plug up. I hated to get it wrong since I had lots of bolts which might have to be redone. Fortunately this was a fear which never materialized. You can't screw up the connectors. The biggest issue is the angle of the seat. It needs the back to lean back more. Somebody should have tried out some recumbents to see how to design the seat. More importantly to keep the seat from sliding forward I had to tighten the friction handle so tight my wife couldn't adjust the seat. I will modify it by placing some boards under the front of the device to change the seat angle. Hopefully it won't require superhuman strength to prevent the seat from sliding. Also leaning back a little will be more comfortable. I will probably use 3 boards to make a cradle to keep the front from coming off its wooden support. I expect to never wear this out. The materials seem like a 5, but the design flaw on the seat pulls the score down for me to a 4. After spending about 2 hours assembling, I would really hate to return it. It's a good quality bike and will get lots of use. Assembly itself wasn't bad... although if you're not mechanically inclined you could struggle a bit, the hardware comes in a bag and although the instructions assign numbers to the individual size bolts ect. there is no labeling on the hardware itself (you gotta figure it out for yourself). Also wasn't thrilled that it was missing 2 parts. I've no doubt if I called the manufacturer they'd be happy to send them out, but since they weren't critical (one cover and an easily replaced part for the seat adjustment) I'm not going to bother them. Lady thing is the heart rate monitor is either morbidly inaccurate or I'm doing something horribly wrong..... or I REALLY need to see a cardiologist..... pretty sure my heart rate doesn't jump to 240 after a couple pedals. End of the day good bang for the buck. ... show more

This bike is solid. It offers a great workout at home. Very smooth gears and very quiet! Can be easily adjusted to fit my 6’4” husband and my 5’4” frame! Good ergonomic seating that minimizes aches and pains allowing for longer, more effective workouts! Assembly was easy to follow.
