I thought buying this with the connectors would make it simple and easy, but it did not work. The connector box to change the lights did not work. The seller even sent me a replacement and it still did not work after I had my experienced landscaper install my lights. Now I’m just stuck with white lights. I would recommend going with the original ends so you don’t have to buy a bunch of extensions because it’s specific to these ones. Definitely check to ensure they work before you install. My landscaper had to Jimmy rig it to work because it was already cemented in and I couldn’t replace it. I’m so disappointed for more than it not working. The 8 set of lights are not set up to be set up far or else you have to buy their extensions… you’ll end up spending $60 more on just extensions… do your research. I’ve been looking for some outdoor lights to brighten up my driveway where I park my car. These are easy to install, put off a great amount of light, and I highly recommend the largest size.

These have a heavy gauge stainless wedge and solid finish on the enclosure. There’s a pretty big hole where the wire enters the enclosure, so I guess it’s the internals that are IP65. I do a lot of wiring, and as others have said, these don’t look like 2700K, more like 3000K. Still a pleasant color. The biggest drawback is the wiring harness. About 6 inches from the bare wire connection it splits into two wires, a few more inches each of two of the wires split into two more. So after the first 18 inches you have six wires of slightly varying lengths - see photo. As others have said, I’ll be cutting the special connector from each fixture and wiring it my way - using waterproof connectors on a single parallel cable. I have the 7 inch fixtures, which use about 3 watts each. ... show more

Out of the box, these feel solid. Heavy gauge metal light housing and mounting plate. The light housing is a nice bronze color so it will blend well with most applications. The light output is nice but a tad on the white/daylight side. Might be a tad brighter than 2700K but I don't have a meter to test. They just seem a little brighter than some of the other 2700K lights I already have. Maybe my others are too yellow? One of the nicest features of these is the LED modules are recessed way back into the light housing. That means you will see the light output, not be blinded by the LED modules. There are a few odd design elements that could make these a little quirky for a clean installation. Depending on how you plan to use them, this may or may not be an issue: 1) The downside of the 360 degree swivel (while that's nice) means the arms that extend down from the mounting plate to hold the light module leave about 1/4" gap between the top of the light module and the mounting plate. That is, when the light is positioned up or down. This gap is necessary to allow the full rotation if mounting flush against a surface. 2) The description says these come with 10' cables, also shown in the video. Mine only have ~3' leads on each light. The bizarre part with these lights is the cable system that you are supposed to screw all the lights into. If you use the included wiring harness you will be VERY limited on placement. The harness has a series of splits with makes no sense for any practical application I can imagine. You will likely have to just cut the wires and make your own connections, which is typical in hardscape projects anyway. 3) I'm not sure about the waterproofing of these lights. The back of the housing is not sealed at all. The product images appear to show a one-piece housing that's closed on the back. The video depicts how the housing really is (and with a much longer cable than what mine have). I've not installed these yet so can't speak to the water resistance over time. It does appear that the LED modules inside the housing are sealed. I did however simulate what happens when they get rained on. I ran water over the top and as expected, water ran into the housing but it also ran out the open lens. Probably Ok but doesn't give me a lot of confidence for long term durability, especially in freezing weather if water is going to sit in there. I hope this is helpful. ... show more

    • Hardscape lighting
I put these on my retaining wall to help illuminate my driveway. The cord for the lights is a little bit too short to spread the lights evenly the way I wanted, so that is a bit frustrating. I had to bring them all closer together and get a power supply and timer so they don't run all the time. Now that they are in place, I am quite pleased with how the look and illuminate my driveway. These are not very bright, but they are enough for a nice accent. I placed the metal supports under the versa-lok wall top stones and angled the lights to point downward. This is a nice set. Everything looks and feels solid. I have bought similar products in the past and they have lasted and I expect this one to not disappoint. These retaining wall lights are well made and look durable. The listing says each fixture uses 1.5w but it actually uses 2w. If I am using many of these hardscape lights the extra .5w for each fixture will add up. I do like the color spectrum it is closer to 3000k than 2700k, they are whiter. I have hardscape light fixtures that are using 3000k LED bulbs, so the light spectrum all matches up and I like that. What I did not like about these hardscape lights are the wiring. All the light fixtures are connected to each other with special connectors. I had to cut up all the wires because each light I installed on my hardscape was farther than the wire length that came with each light fixture. I did not bother to purchase extension cables with the special connectors. ... show more
