I was primarily interested in this pump as a means of having a super compact emergency air pump that is easy to carry when going on long bicycle rides, as an air compressor is definitely going to be a whole lot more convenient than one of those tiny hand-powered pumps. For that purpose, this definitely will get the job done. The design of the main unit is nice, with rounded corners so that it is comfortable to hold. The air supply hose is a bit of a double-edged sword, because on one hand, it's really short, so that you have to hold on to the pump while it's working, so longer would be nicer, but on the flip side, a longer hose would be a lot less portable, so I understand why it is short. I do wish, though, that the air nozzle could face in the opposite direction away from the screen to make it easier to see the screen and controls while the pump is attached to a tire. The pump operates at about the speed I would expect to see from something of its size. A larger pump could inflate larger tires faster, but as a compromise between pumping speed and portability, this strikes a good balance. The controls are easy to use, although I do find it annoying that in "car" mode it will only reference pressure in Bar instead of PSI, so that pretty much means I'll only use it in "bicycle" mode so that it displays PSI. To that end, having a compressor with the ability to input the target pressure and have an automatic shutoff is a really nice feature to have. And, this feature technically does work, BUT the pressure gauge is not accurate enough, which I've found to be the case with any digital tire pressure gauge I've ever used. In my testing on wheelbarrow and lawnmower tires, I found that after inflating the tires and the pump shutting off at my selected pressure, then checking it with my good analog pressure gauge, this pump consistently inflates things 2-5PSI lower than the selected pressure. So, it's clear that bringing along another good pressure gauge to see if additional air is needed after this pump decides to stop at your selected pressure setting. ... show more

I live in an area without free air compressor stations, so I decided to get a portable one, and it's been a total game-changer for me. Work has me traveling a lot, driving here and there, I was always worried about getting a flat tire and not having a way to fill it up, but with this inflator, I can now easily and quickly inflate my tires whenever and wherever I need to.     • Compact, easy to use, short hose
I have a little compressor that is like a battery tool - the battery is separate. It works great but takes about 3 times the space as this one. This is easy to use. Set the desired PSI and it runs until the tire reaches it. The hose for this is short, less than a foot which makes it so that you have to hold this while you connect it. It is slower than my other one but did pump up a completely deflated wheelbarrow tire. It has USB outlet to charge your phone or whatever which makes it more versatile - you probably won't use it that often to pump up tires. Bag isn't much just a simple top tie bag. I have others that will work better. Includes cigarette lighter cable. Overall, great tool to keep in the van and takes little space. ... show more

    • It works, it clatters, but it pumps 'em up real good!
Not too heavy in weight but it has plenty of battery life. A great gift for your lady fair. Let her pump up a tire where she is without making herself vulnerable to predators at a convenience store or other location with air for fee. I really like this Hardell pump that claims it will inflate up to one hundred fifty lbs. I went with a tire from almost flat to forty lbs for a test. It got the job done without any depreciation in pump output or battery decline in the brief several minutes that it took to test on a couple of automotive tires. As the pressure increases the pump naturally works harder and when that happens it begins to make a clattering sound. Pay no heed to that, it is only indicatives that the pump is doing its job and that air is being compressed. By the way, after inflating a couple of low tires be aware that compressing air makes things get hot...sometimes hot to the touch so don't burn your fingers. This is a very nicely designed pump and it is easy to read. It is if you can forgive the expression, a Smart Pump. Just look at the LED screen and all is there for you to see. I will include some pictures in a couple of days....but suffice to say this is a good value, nice wirless tire inflation pump. In my opinion if there is a traveling woman or man in your household this is an item that they should have on their travels. I like it. compact and easy to carry in car for emergencies. a bit of a learning curve to change the units that the pressures are displayed in (psi vs bar) but works well and gives piece of mind when traveling.
